We have stayed four nights in this good hotel. We had a large room and bathroom. The lady who runs the place and the other personel were quite helpfull. We were quite happy with the swimmingpool and sunground, good place to relax after a busy day. Well situated for a visit to the Wachau area and a trip on the... More

We were travelling on a budget this year and stayed in this hotel for one night. The staff were very very friendly and helpful! top marks here. The hotel itself had everything we needed, it wasn't maybe a 5* hotel, but it was very functional and provided good facilities - the roof top terrace is something to definitely try!

I really liked this hotel. Clean, quiet, and friendly staff. Very close to the old bits of Krems. Great breakfast buffet. I was doing a solo bike tour along the Danube and they have excellent secure bike parking. A really nice courtyard for relaxing. And a pool with great views of the city. the only drawback is Alex, she claims... More

If cycling the River Danube trail this is an excellent hotel to stay. It is slightly away from the town centre and from the outside visually looks nothing special but once inside its a maze of old and new. The bedroom was modern and comfortable with a large bathroom. At the rear of the hotel and up many flights of... More

The room we occupied was very clean and comfortable, great view of the palace on the hill. Pool area is very quite and Marvelous with the BBQ etc., surrounding gardens. Great breakfast in the morning. Close to old town and great restaurants. wish we could have stayed longer.

The reception we received from Alex could not have been more welcoming - we knew who she was from previous comments, she quickly provided us with all the info we needed and we had a lovely couple of hours up in the garden by the pool. Breakfast was fabulous all lovely and fresh. If you want boutique then this is... More

My son and I are on an epic bike trip on the Danube River Trail. Hotel Zum Goldenen Engel was charming, and the room was perfect! Our host Alex spoke perfect English and was a world of help with our onward travels. The breakfast buffet was not to be believed, even accompanied by champagne! Thanks for such lovely accommodations and... More

The building from the outside is charming and some of the common rooms are well done in a modern style—the meeting room and the sitting area on the 2nd floor in the main part of the hotel, but then others are a mishmash-the reception’s sitting/breakfast area furniture doesn’t match the size of the room and the rest of the finishes,... Friendly family-run hotel with updated facilities within an historic building. Easy walking distance from the centre of Krems. Hospitality with traditional values and helpful staff. English visitors will appreciate the 'open kitchen' with a kettle for making tea - but bring your own tea-bags! The generosity is such that if you ask for a small jug of milk, you are... More

My wife and I spent 6 days at the Golden Angel while I was doing some work for a local college. The room was very clean and the hotel had a great breakfast included. The gem of the hotel was Alex (a memvber of the 8th generation to operate the hotel). Her English was impeccable and her enthusiasm for guests... More
