I was hesitant on choosing this hotel after reading couple of bad reviews. Upon arrival we were granted an airport transfer for which we needed to wait a hour... The lady on the reception was very nice, and our room was ready even before noon. The room was one of the largest I've ever been during my holidays with family. It had 2 interconnecting large rooms, a bathroom and a huge balcony. Cleanliness is however not their strengths. The dirt in the rooms, bathroom is disappointing, and this can also be observed in the hotel restaurant. There were multiple times I found hair in the food.... The dinner quality was quite bad by the way, on the contrary, breakfast was much better. The hotel itself is located in a huge garden, the center is in walking distance, but you can also travel by local public transportation (bus). We were there at the end of the season, so many restaurants in the neighborhood were already closed, but there were still plenty of people everywhere. The pool was ice cold, but as long as you have a sea within 30 meters, I did not care that much. At that time of the year the beach had no beds or umbrellas, but like that it was not that crowded at least. Water was crystal clear, but the beaches in general are full with litter, due to human negligence (cigarette bums, plastic bottles thrown away etc.). There are hardly and thrash cans nearby. This is not the hotel's fault, just a general observation on the area. Overall, the disappointing features of the hotel (cleanliness, lack of maintenance) are compensated by the fantastic location and astonishing sunsets.

We had a magnificent stay at this great hotel. I’ve struggled with how to rate it. It’s location is absolutely perfect, close to the airport & lots of restaurants and shops within a short walk. The property is not a gigantic resort, but the the balconies & rooms are spacious, the lawn is gorgeous, every room has an amazing view. Parking is easy & plentiful. The breakfast is huge & very good. The restaurant & bar next door (Suite 48) is fabulous. There’s a lovely beach across the boardwalk. The pool is lovely. The suite we had was so spacious w/a huge wonderful balcony and two bathrooms. The property advertises as “minimalist.” And there’s a certain clean aesthetic that is implied by minimalism. But — the reason is important to have a “but” — is that there is minimalist and then there’s lack of comfort. The bed was fine. But for our huge suite & balcony, there was half a sofa, one uncomfortable chair, and a plastic ikea cafe table & two chairs on the balcony. It just lacked minimal comforts. Our kids had a separate room that was equally lacking in basic of comfortable furnishings. To be fair, we did not spend a lot of time in our rooms, but when there it would have been nice to have a bit more in the way of comfortable furnishings — especially on the balcony.

This is our second stay at the Amphora. In Sept 2021 we had a lovely stay here hence booked again for July 2022. All looked good until the night where the Air con failed on the first and second night. This meant no sleep for the 2 nights. Reason for this is the units within a block can affect each other, if one room changes the mode it can stop all other air cons working. This is really not acceptable. We spoke to reception and they did move us to another room. Problem with the other room was the air con was just underwhelming, so still hot at night. Spoke to them again and the receptionist got the General Manager involved. We asked for a refund as wanted to move to another hotel and where given a flat no as they think this is acceptable. This is still on going as we are still out here and are spending the night staying at friends as it’s too hot to sleep at the hotel. Be warned that the air conditioning has problems in the hotel as mentioned and dependant on who is on reception it can take hours to resolve.

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL I stayed at this hotel in July 2022. The room was dirty and full of ants. I telephoned the reception who promised to sort it out but 3 hours later I had to go to reception to complain again in person. Stil no luck. At breakfast there is only one person trying to make omelettes bring plates fill counter with pastries make pancakes and more. I felt sorry for her but there was nobody to help her. Terrible service.

We had a wonderful holiday here. the place is in front of the ocean, with nice gardens and an amazing pool that is temperature perfect! Our room was very big with nice amenities The wifi worked perfectly The breakfast was amazing I want to put forward the kindness and professionalism of the staff here: receptionists are super professional, cleaning staff is highly dedicated and the breakfast staff is incredibly nice (the gentleman that greeted us every morning) snd very organized. i was very impressed with the staff, they work hard to satisfy customers needs We liked it so much that we decided to extend our stay. The organization on our extension request was smooth and friendly We are clearly staying here again and can recommend this hotel to everyone. the prices are also very reasonable and the hotel offers excursions and visits! loved our stay - thank you!

What a wonderful hotel. Firstly I should point out that it’s a simple hotel so if you are expecting 5 star luxury you will be disappointed but that being said it was great. Some parts are a little tired such as the pool tiling but I balance that with unlimited sun loungers, parasols and tonnes of space unlike the sun bed farms you’ll see further down the boardwalk. Location is great, a nice walk into Paphos or a short taxi ride (8-10 euro). Studio48 was fab for people watching and a post dinner drink before bed. Breakfast was excellent, wide choice of fruit, cheese, bread, meats, hot food including made to order omelettes and Greek specialities (lovely pastries stuffed with feta or spinach!). Customer service was outstanding, I couldn’t fault it. My mum struggles with walking but the care and support given was amazing. Special call outs to Tina on reception, the restaurant manager and the team at the pool bar. Thank you for looking after us so well, we’ll be back!!

An absolutely unwelcome hotel with bad services, they are not willing to help you. We booked a double sea view room and on arrival we received a room for disabled people and bonus cockroaches in the bathroom. He said he could give us a spray to kill the beetles as if we had come to clean them. After a heated argument he changed our room but had 2 separate beds, it was not what we had ordered. you can't eat quietly because of this. Even if I asked the restaurant manager to start it, he said that these are not possible, these are the conditions. The clients for this hotel don't matter, they are not willing to help you. I don't recommend it.

Cracking hotel and suites… My wife and I stayed here for 7 days and loved every day. The hotel, rooms and gardens was kept spotlessly clean. The restaurant facilities was great to. We was only B&B but the food and service was great too. The restaurant manager was a very pleasant chap. The pool bar staff was also great and very helpful. The gardens was very well kept also. If I could say one bad thing it would only be the sun beds too the garden area was a bit uncomfortable but all in all a great stay.

Amphora is a unique hotel experience in that it’s greatest attributes are also, paradoxically, it’s biggest areas for improvement. Amphora is a medium-sized hotel on the Paphos boardwalk. It is NOT a resort, which I liked personally. However, this means that you get what you get. when you’re at the pool, there’s no drink service, but there is a bar that you can collect your drinks from. They have plush bath and beach towels, but each person only gets one of each and they are only exchanged every two days. The included breakfast is delicious and impressive, but there are only 6, 2-person tables outdoors while all the other tables are inside of the sweltering buffet room. The service is great, but all questions have to be forwarded to the GM and you will have to come to the front desk at 10:30 everyday to get yesterday’s question answered. Amphora is right on the “beach,” but does not have any equipment on the actual sand. You have to walk 200 meters from your lawn-bound sun bed, down some stairs to a municipal beach zone. This section of the beach/boardwalk is relatively private, but it is also sparsely equipped. Amphora is minimalist in aesthetic which provides an ultra-relaxing visual landscape inside and outside, BUT your deluxe suite only comes with a queen bed in one room and 1 chair + 1/2 sofa + a minuscule coffee table in a GIGANTIC second room with absolutely nothing on the walls. Your massive balcony only has two plastic chairs and a plastic table. All the empty space almost makes you want to take up yoga just to do SOMETHING with it. The bones are good, but it’s like they ran out of money halfway through decorating. Same is true for the Spartan landscaping. However, location is truly prime, the beds are comfy, and overall, relaxation will certainly be achieve.
