Well after choosing thid hotel and looking forward to our trip. We were disappointed as soon as we pulled up outside. It became apparent no money had been spent on this place in decades. Calling it Faulty towers is being kind. Rooms are ageing and bathrooms are disgusting and out of date. Toilet seat keeps falling off.....no room safe....aircon only just about works....no tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast. No fresh juices!! Only oringade made with water. Not a great choice!! Scrambled egg is like a solid slab of something disgusting. Yoghurt not refrigerated. Restaurant manager is a miserable woman..... We asked one night for dinner.....considering nobody was eating youd think they'd be glad of the custom considering it looks dead in dining room.. Beds are Rock hard.... We booked a double room.....seeing as it was our Anniversary.....but were given a twin room.....we ended up with the beds moving apart.....n a gap between us. To be really honest just dont book this hotel. Barman at pool is a very nice guy. The rest can't crack a smile.

It goes without saying that the main selling point of this hotel is the Roman themed decoration which was neat. The rooms were clean and well maintained. There wasn't any bad smell in the rooms. The breakfast buffet was disappointing for 12 euros or whatever they were charging. Ok to stay here once for the experience.

I’ve just returned from Paphos and stayed at the Roman because when I looked it up on line it all looked very different than all other hotels on offer and the Roman doesn’t disappoint. I arrived quite late in the day and found the receptionist very helpful in giving me all the information I needed and asking questions. The hotels decor is amazing (I think a third of my holiday photos are of the hotel). My favourite spot was the pool and bar area which was beautiful you always have the choice of sunny and shaded areas, I always ate my meals by the pool too because it so lovely there no matter what time of day it is. I was bed and breakfast and always found the food fresh and wonderfully cooked, there was always a choice of beautiful fresh salads and cooked food. The staff was always so helpful, cheerful and always happy to help. I would definitely recommend this hotel as it has so many local amenities only 10 mins walk from the waterfront, local bars and shops on your doorstep and literally next door to an awesome World Heritage Site (the mosaics there are definitely unmissable). I really can’t wait to visit again.

We have been to the hotel a number of times and found the food to be good but this time the buffet dinner is lacking in quality and choice. Breakfast is good and the rooms are comfortable. A problem which arises and spoils the peace and tranquility is when local children are allowed in to use the the swimming pool, causing mayhem in and around the pool. A shame that they are not evicted and the hotel guests allowed to enjoy the amenities in peace.

I loved the Roman Hotel. Do not hesitate to book it. Just got back early this morning from a 10 day holiday here. 1. Welcome at reception from George and the info he gave us was excellent. 2. Room exceptionally clean, large, king size bed, a whole wall of mirror, good sized balcony overlooking pool. Bathroom with both bath and over bath shower and another large mirror. Hairdryers are supplied. Rooms cleaned every day and sheets and towels replaced. 3. Breakfast is lovely. Something for everyone both hot and cold. Fruits, yoghurts, cereals, cold meats and cheeses, usual hot with bacon, eggs, beans, mushrooms etc. Lovely warm bread rolls, toast, jams etc. You can sit in the restaurant if you wish or around the lovely pool area. 4. Pool area is fantastic. Pool just right temperature and surrounded by Bouganvilla etc. Must be the most photographed pool ever. Always sunbeds available and tables and chairs. Pool bar opens at 10 am. Varied choices of drinks, food and lovely ice cream sundaes. Good prices too. Look out for the resident cat. She is so friendly. 5. We had dinner on a couple of nights although we were bed and breakfast. The option is offered but you need to book before 3pm that day. Cost is 13e for a 3 course meal with choices. Most nights typically Cypriot which we loved. Wednesday and Saturday is BBQ night. 6. Maybe last but certainly not least-the staff at this hotel work tirelessly to make your holiday enjoyable. They are efficient, friendly and helpful-sorry I don't know all of their names. They work extremely long shifts but always have a smile and friendly word for you. I cannot praise them enough and that goes for all the staff including the behind the scenes cleaners, cooks etc. They are all wonderful. This is a bit nit picky but the only prob I had was you need to be Jeff Capes to slide the patio door. It's really heavy. Wonderful place, wonderful holiday, would return in a blink of an eye. It's close to restaurants, a 24 hr shop, trinket shops, bakery, bars and the Kings Avenue Mall with designer shops and Jumbo just in case you have forgotten to pack something. You'll find it in there at a good price.

This hotel is very quirky. The decor is Roman style and is fine for communal areas but becomes oppressive in the bedroom. However, it is in a great location with plenty of bars and restaurants on the doorstep. It is also a ten minute walk away from the harbour and five minutes away from the beach. The reception staff speak excellent English and are very efficient.

The hotel is done out in a Roman style, all the walls are painted with Roman style patterns and images. The attention to detail is excellent and it makes it very different to your normal hotel. Hotel has a big foyer, restaurant with free breakfast and a nice pool area. The room was big, en-suite and had a balcony overlooking the pool. They let me check in a few hours early for free. Location was very good, opposite a shopping mall and 10/15 mins walk to the tomb of the kings and similar to paphos fort/waterfront in the other direction. Would absolutely stay again. Only downsides are the TV only had 10 channels and only 1 in English, there was a stain on the bed cover and there are too many mirrors in the hotel.

Great place to stay albeit a little bit balmy with its decor but it’s fun!! A great central location, 10 minute walk to harbour. Lovely choice of hot and cold food for buffet breakfast. Beds a little hard for my liking and toaster needs replacing! Great staff too but we absolutely fell in love with this cat while here, she is just adorable. A bit skinny when we arrived but well fed when we left, she would even come into our room and lived a lot of fuss and cuddles on the bed. She’s a lovely clean cat, if you visit please love her and feed her, food us available and is very cheap from the 24hour supermarket opposite the hotel. Thank you ❤️

I have checked the pictures before booking the hotel, and the quirky interior seemed appropriate for a holiday in Cyprus. But when we arrived i was SO pleasantly surprised - the vibe, the feel and the friendly staff, everything was just top notch. My sister mentioned that it felt like we were staying at a themed hotel in Disneyland (Herculess theme obviously :D ). Rooms spacious, little balcony and the pool side was excellent. Apart from this, i just wanted to give a big shout out to George (im not sure if this is the correct spelling of his name, as it might be more Cypriot/ Greek), he was so friendly and kind and made sure our stay was great! Everyone else working at the hotel also seemed lovely, and the barman (we forgot his name SORRY!) who prepared the banana split with candles for our sisters birthday was just amazing! Thank you so much, and if we ever come to Cyprus again, we will sure be staying here!

We have just returned from a two night stay in this truly quirky but wonderful hotel. Our triple room was extremely spacious and very well equipped. We had tea making facilities, a tv, a hairdryer, free wi fi, extra duvets if needed. The room was decorated with huge murals of mythological people and creatures. After checking in we asked if it were possible to have a couple of extra pillows. The charming lady at Reception said ‘ of course, no problem ‘ and duly presented us with 2 pillows. All throughout the hotel we found the staff friendly and eager to help, they are all lovely!! Breakfast was self service buffet style, hot and cold food in plentiful supply. As soon as anything was running low it was quickly replaced! I really couldn’t fault it. We have had a lovely few days and would highly recommend that you visit as soon as possible. Congratulations to everyone at the hotel, keep up the good work!
