Detailed Reviews
This hotel is well situated on the main promenade in Gzira, surrounded by many bars/restaurants and has a bus stop on the doorstep to access the rest of the island. (Tip: we bought the seven day bus pass for €21 which we more than got our money’s worth out of.) Most of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, particularly those serving breakfast on a morning and the cleaning staff. We were only B&B so can only comment on breakfast, which had a good selection of items to choose from and was regularly replenished by the hardworking staff. We had a room in the side annex which was a good size and we were fortunate enough to have a large terrace with sun loungers. We had made a request to be on a high floor and to be near out travelling companions and both of these requests were met. The rooms were cleaned daily and towels replenished as required, although the bedding was not changed during our 9 night stay. The air conditioning in our room worked well and kept the room at a comfortable temperature. Unfortunately, whilst the shower was of a generous size, the doors did not close properly so the bathroom floor would flood every time we took a shower. The rest of the bathroom was also quite cramped with minimal room to put toiletries etc.
Our first visit to the rooftop pool found it full of people, with no spare loungers and a quite cloudy looking pool. However, on subsequent visits, the pool was clear and inviting and there were plenty of sun loungers when we went up after breakfast, around 10am (I think it may just depend on the guests staying at that time). Pool towels were provided, there is a small bar selling drinks and the views are amazing.
Our biggest issue with this hotel is the lift situation. Our building had 1 lift for 6 floors, which would have been okay were it not for the fact that it was the same lift used by staff. This meant that you often couldn’t get in the lift as beds were being moved around the hotel, or the trolley for bags of laundry was in there and it was being held at every floor to load up. This was the same for the lift in the main building up to the pool area, although we did discover a 2nd small lift which could be used.
Overall, this is a 3 star hotel giving 3 star value for money. The many positives far outweigh the negatives and the hotel provides an excellent base to explore Malta and the surrounding islands.

I've read some of the other reviews and I'm pretty sure that they must be talking about another hotel.
First of all, some one wrote that the pools were dirty. Yes, they need renovating and there needs to be more umbrellas for shade but I wouldn't say anywhere in the hotel was dirty, in fact, it was very clean.
The manager of the hotel, James Davis, we extremely pro-active and we often saw him buzzing about. He reacted to our complaint about the air co.
The reception were very helpful. I would like to thank Godfrey who done everything he could to help us, and Simon, who is new but is a lovely guy and smiles all the time. Our beds weren't divided when we arrived but they sorted this out within half an hour.
The location is great for those who want to get out and about. You can't hear any noise from the busy road once the balcony door is shut. Didn't hear the other hotel guests at all from our room.
The beds were incredibly comfortable. We rarely book a 3 Star and these beds were comparable to any 4/5 star hotel I've ever stayed in. The rooms were good.
The food was average. The staff in the restaurant were very good. They work hard.
The air co in the communal areas is good but in the bedrooms it's not really up to standard. It's a cooling system and ST Hotels need to get it sorted as it is a major complaint for nearly all the guests.
I think people need to realize that this is a 3 star hotel not a 5 and you can't pay for a fiat panda and drive a Mercedes!

We stayed here for 5 nights at the end of October for a little anniversary trip. We had a sea view room and had requested a high floor - this is definitely a must - gorgeous views of the habour and Valletta in the distance. Hotel was really good, clean, nice staff, great breakfast and lovely rooftop pool. For the price we paid we were extremely happy. As for location it was spot on - plenty of bars and restaurants right along the promenade and a short walk to the ferry terminal you can hop on a ferry over to Valletta, we did that twice. You can get a bus to most parts of the island but we used Bolt most of the time as they were very reasonably priced. We did visit St. Julians, St. Pauls Bay and the Mdina but by far the nicest area on Malta is Sliema. Absolutely loved Malta and would definitely go again and stay in this hotel again. (Little negative and hate complaining but we had a room on the 6th floor just below rooftop pool/bar area and at 6.20 on our first morning we were awoken by the cleaners moving and scraping furniture about - not what you need on your holiday! I did mention this to reception and we thought the problem had been solved, however, 2 days later it happened again - I think the cleaning rota needs looking at, as there is no need for the pool area to be cleaned at that time in the morning, maybe they should start in reception at that time and work their way up!) It didn`t really spoil our holiday but should be something you might want to consider if you don`t want to be woken that early in the morning.

Dear Guest, Thank you for choosing our hotel to celebrate your anniversary and for taking the time to leave such a wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the sea view from your high-floor room, the convenient location near the promenade, and the ease of getting around the island. It’s fantastic to know our breakfast and rooftop pool added to your experience, and that you had a great time exploring Malta from our hotel base. We also appreciate your constructive feedback about the early morning cleaning noise from the rooftop. We’re sorry for any disturbance it caused and thank you for bringing this to our attention; we’ll certainly review our cleaning schedule to better respect our guests' rest. Thank you once again for your kind words, and we look forward to welcoming you back for another memorable stay! Warm regards, ST Hotels Malta

Having just returned from the Bayview Hotel i can quite honestly say we had a fantastic time . The hotel is in a great location to explore the island with the bus stopping just outside and the harbour offering trips all over. We had bed and breakfast which was ideal for us as we like to explore. The rooms are very nice apart from the odd scuff mark here and there. Very comfy beds , satelite tv with youtube , free wifi , tea and coffee with kettle , mini fridge , safe , shower room with hairdryer. They had a good selection of breakfast items with pastries , cooked breakfast and fruit and cereals ect. The staff are a credit to the hotel and malta as they were always very polite friendly nothing was a problem for them. The rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels and bedding changed after a few days. Our maid deserves a special mention {Dayana) was great always smiling and polite and very efficient nothing was ever a problem. The pools one indoors and one out were ok but the outdoor pool was very cold . There is a spa and fitness area for the use of all hotel guests ( massages ect extra cost of course but there if you want it ).If you want to eat out there are loads of places along the front we ate out most evenings . If you want a nice hotel in a great location then i would recommend the Bayview. We had 2 sea view rooms at the front looking out to Valletta ( road at front is busy and can be quite noisy but did not cause us a problem.
Thankyou to the Bayview for a great holiday

My husband and I stayed at the bay view hotel for a week. We paid for a standard sea view room which didn’t disappoint! The views over the bay were lovely. The room was up to date, nicely decorated and the cleaners came in every day left clean towels/made bed/cleaned cups and refreshed tea & coffee. We paid for B&b as knew we would be exploring the island. Breakfast was nice, huge choice of food available (hot and cold options) all the staff were super friendly in the break room and reception staff were friendly, offering advice on taxi/tours/buses etc. taxis are no problem and don’t cost an arm and a leg. Reception order you taxi if you require. Pre pay aswell so no haggling with taxi drivers. The spa area could use a little updating but the outside pool area was nice and relaxing. The area of sliema is nice and relaxing. We would have no hesitation in staying in the hotel again if we were in that area but when we return to Malta would like to try Valletta next time. Had a fab time can’t thank the staff enough!!

Following on from my review regarding ST Sliema Hotel, we were sent to this accommodation as our original choice was closed for tourists, whilst they made vast amounts of money as a covid isolation hotel. .
On our arrival we were informed that there was a " problem" as the "deluxe sea view room " that we booked and paid for was also nor available.
So we were put in a standard room for 1 night , we complained but it was 1.30am and we wanted to go to sleep.
the allocated room was not clean and the toilet had dirty marks from usage.
We awoke and went for breakfast for the first and only time , as the food was awful.
We returned from our day out to be allocated with our sea view room and was informed by the reception staff that we would be provided with an evening meal for our inconvenience.
Our new sea view room was compact to say the least and the bathroom was no bigger than the size of a coffin.
You could not use the toilet properly and had to sit at an angle because the sink was in the way.
The shower door would not open without moving shower head to the wall and it was awkward to get in or out.
The bar saloon style doors did not close properly and the extremely small bathroom did not have any privacy.
I am 6ft and 16 stone and struggled to use the bathroom due to its small size.
The only good thing about the room was the view from the balcony.
In the evening we went to the reception to enquire about our complementary evening meal thinking that we would be dining at the adjoining Paprika or Victoria's restaurant only to be sent to another sister hotel " the Azur".
We walked into the totally deserted restaurant ,which only contained the staff sat chatting round a table, looked at the school meal buffet type food in trays and walked out.
We certainly would not have risked eating there and dined elsewhere.
One afternoon we decided to take advantage of the rooftop pool.
We lasted 10 minutes as the changing rooms were filthy, as was the pool and sun lounge area.
I would agree with other reviews of the ST franchise hotels in Malta regarding the food quality and deceitful photography of the rooms etc,
From the TA reviews I have read ,regarding ST hotels in Sliema, it would seem that the management are happy to be dishonest and push customers onto other hotels in their franchise rather than provide the necessary refund.
Due to my experience , I would not recommend or use this or any other of the ST hotels in Sliema..
This spoiled a holiday that we had previously booked, and were looking forward to , before lockdown.

My self and partner booked this hotel over 4 weeks in advanced paid extra for sea view and chose this hotel as had a pool. Turned up at 5pm to be told there is a problem with our room and we have been moved hotel to their sister hotel a 2 mins walk and we have been upgraded. Not told of the reason and was not helped with our many bags and no apology! But as though they were doing us a favour by upgrading our room to another hotel. Checked on line the new hotel and room was cheaper than what we had paid for. Got to new hotel St Aruba( sister hotel) to be given no sea view and then arrived in the room to no towels no cups a very noisy room with the hotel having massive construction work! Went to complain told ow it is a bigger room and that was that. Terrible hotel!! Construction work and the customer service from this hotel and bayview was a joke! We had to then walk to the bay view to use the pool each time! Do not use they will move you to a different hotel take your money and give you a non sea room that you had paid for sea view when complained just rude! This was the view that we got when they sent us to another hotel clearly no sea view!!! Do not use!!!!

Nice hotel rooms, comfy beds, the bathroom food with every shower due to the design, I just asked for more towels to sop up the floor. It made me feel better that others have suffered too lol. The shower pressure and hot water is amazing. The mattress amazing. The tvs allow you to log into your Netflix so I got to continue my Bridgerton show. Little hot water pot and coffee/creamer/sugar, and mini fridge. Very updated rooms and clean. My room was 106 so just make sure you don’t get that room or just know that the bathroom floor will be wet and you’ll need extra towels, and also the kitchen exhaust is next to your patio (nice outdoor private patio) so there are food smells if you go outside. The room did not have any bad smell.
I felt safe here. The have an outdoor and indoor restaurant, I liked the shrimp ceviche and the cisk Malta lager beer, red wine. Busses right outside.
I will recommend and I will stay in Malta here again, and longer so I can do the day trips to Sicily and Gozo. There was more to do in Malta than I imagined.
Everyone speaks English and is helpful and friendly. Love Malta!
If you need a manicure and massage, I got the best of my life at a simple Chinese place inside the lobby of St Silema hotel a few minutes walk.

Stayed at the Bay View Hotel in Sliema Malta. We booked all excursions with the hotel representative rather than booking with the guys located by the Ferry sea front so as to avoid any negative consequences. We booked a trip with the hotel representative to Sicilly/Mount Etna and Taorimina, we were informed pick up from hotel was 6.00am and Ferry would depart at 6.30am from Valetta. The following day I queried the timings as it didn't seem realistic to be picked up at 6.00am, journey to Valetta port, pay balances and complete passport checks in 30 minutes, surely others would be on the excursion! The representative handed me a piece of paper with the booking reference telling me to ring them for confirmation. I called several times and I was unsuccessful in speaking with anyone. I went back to the hotel representative, she was unhelpful and became slightly agitated, saying I did not make the booking with her so she was unable to assist me. I was fairly assertive explaining that it should not matter who I made the booking with as the booking is made with whoever is sitting in the chair advising and taking money for excursions. I gave her the slip with details of the intended excursion, she dialled the number, I have no proof if she actually spoke with anyone, she handed me back the slip, saying pickup is 6.00am as stated! I considered common sense and intuition, it is not possible to journey to Valletta, pay balance and complete passport checks in 30 minutes, Ferry leaves at 6.30am! With my doubts, I try again to ring the Ferry terminal, giving booking reference for confirmation of pickup from hotel. I was told 5.15am, sounds more realistic! Had I followed the information given by excursion representative at the hotel our trip would not of occurred, we would of been disappointed plus the inconvenience in requesting a refund for the deposit. Surely these representative must of made previous bookings to Sicilly and questioned how is it viable to journey from Sliema to Valletta, show documents in 30 minutes? The hotel reception staff needs training in customer care skills as complaints are often met with a negative response, even though complaint were only minor - the usual, issues with the air conditioner, service was never with a smile, not even a courtesy 'good morning '. The evening menu was bland and uninspiring! Overcooked pasta, sweet and sour chicken and chicken supreme served with chips. How about rice as an alternative option? The same fresh fruit served at breakfast and evening meal consists of, apples, seeded grapes and orange segments. Desert choices, ice cream and slice of cake. Only water served with evening meals as juices offered at breakfast are off limits. The Bar closes at 10.00pm! The shower tray leaked every day. The rooms were adequately cleaned. The hotel is well situated to all amenities. I would definitely return to Malta, however unable to recommend the Bay View Hotel by St Hotels.

+1
We stayed at this hotel over NY and thought for the price it was good value. The rooms are a really good size with large flat screen TV's are well appointed LED lighting including within the wardrobe dress, mirrors, beds and bathroom. Our room looked to have been recently decorated, and was cleaned to a reasonable standard. The curtains were decent and kept the room dark and we got a good sleep each evening. We had one of the rooms at the back of the hotel which came with a balcony which was big enough for us to sit out on. Mentions from others around hot water issues we didn't find largely during our stay and given it was at its most busy perhaps they have done something to resolve.
The included breakfast had a wide selection of continental and hot breakfast options. Being there over New Year the place was fully booked and the staff did a superb job of keeping all the items stocked up.
It's well worth popping up to the roof terrace which has an outdoor pool, and superb views over the harbor
The hotel is situated a couple of minutes from the bus stop which is really convenient to get into Velleta, just download the Tallinja App and it'll give you all the live time Bus details, and you'll be into Velleta in around 10 minutes. You can also take the ferry if you choose, and go for a Harbor Cruise just up the road.
Now onto a few improvement points, it should be noted this is a 3 star hotel, so I've graded my review as such. As mentioned the shower does leak slightly which would be easily resolved with a maintenance solution, the bathroom door is also a little odd where it's a split type door almost like a saloon bar. It also doesn't have a lock on. Not really an issue if you are a couple, but if you're going as a family or with your mate you may wish to consider.
The hotel is quite a large hotel, the pool and sauna area could really do with a bit of an overhaul, and is looking a bit tired as others have mentioned. Having pool towels included would also have been good, though we understood you could get one from reception for an extra charge. Getting these amenities at a 3 star though is a boon.
Breakfast was exceptionally busy in the morning due to the hotel been fully booked, but going earlier in service was fine. As mentioned the standard and selection of buffet options we really couldn't fault. I think we are probably spoiled with decent coffee in the UK and Bean to Cup Machines, because as mentioned by others the breakfast machines are all instant coffee. It would be great if they offered filter which I can't imagine would add too much cost.
When we arrived there seemed to be some problems with the key cards, which were sorted but it was a bit of a struggle. As mentioned lifts do take an age, do consider if you struggle with mobility, personally we just walked up and down the stairs which was no bother.
Overall we had a good stay, and I'd stay here again.

Good afternoon Aaron,
Kindly note that the jacuzzi is placed indoors. Regarding the heating, you simply need to inform the reception 30-40 min prior, so they can set the temperature to be perfect and warm enough. Hope this answers your question.
Kind regards,
ST HOTELS MALTA
I’m not too sure but I doubt you’ll want to use the pool are!
Good morning
Staying in Bayview Hotel, there is free access to the Roof top terrace in Bayview Hotel and also the facilities such as the gym, sauna and jacuzzi. Access to the Aqualuna is against an extra suppliment.
If you will be staying Azur Hotel or Sliema Hotel, since they don't have a pool inside the same property, the guests have free access to Aqualuna.
Regards
