This hotel has no pretensions and maintains a solid three star standard. If you care about the view pay extra and you can have a view over the harbour, if you don't then there is no view. The receptionists were all very friendly, efficient and helpful. The rooms are fine, though lacking any niceties there is a working fridge, the beds are comfortable and the bathrooms do the job. So as long as you are not after pomp and ceremony this hotel does what it says on the tin. The best thing about staying here in my opinion is the location, which is just about perfect. There are excellent restaurants and bars a few steps from the entrance. The bus stops opposite include the open top buses that offer two options, between them covering the island. Ferries to Valletta (just on the other side of the harbour) leave from the hotel, as do other boat tours. We were here as a group of friends on a prolonged social, and the location could not have been bettered. So a three star rating is not intended in any way to put you off staying here, it merely reflects the fact that this is a solid three star hotel, and as such is recommended.

Overall, I had a very a good experience with my one week stay at Slimea Marina. First and foremost for me, it's in a great location with many good restaurants within a short walk and it's right accross the street from a ferry terminal to either go to Valletta or Gozo. It's also right across from a pick up stop for both major Hop-On, Hop-Off buses that I used each day for my sightseeing. The room was nice and clean, it looked recently updated and the bathroom was rather spacious compared to other hotels I've stayed in around Europe. I only used the buffet breakfast one day but it was quite good/plentiful for 8 Euro. I booked a room with a water view and had an amazing view of the harbor and the city of Valletta across the water.
There are/were a couple drawbacks I'd point out. For me, the mattress was quite hard. I perfer a slightly softer mattress but that's a personal preference. If you like a firmer bed, not an issue for you. The wifi was spotty at best for me. I try not to spend a ton of time in my room when I'm traveling, I'd rather be out sightseeing. But when I get back for the night, I like to watch something on my tablet but the wifi connection would constantly disconnect. I asked the front desk if there was anything they could do. It got a bit better after that but not much. Third item is the noise level. The hotel is situated on a main road with quite active restaurants right below it so there is decent amount of noise that I heard from the third floor. Not enough for me to request a higher floor room or anything but if you really need to quiet to sleep or something like that, something to keep in mind.
Overall, it was everything I expected and I wanted from my stay with just a few minor issues. I'd definitely stay here again if/when I come back to Malta.

My wife and I have just returned to this hotel , having been there before 4 years ago. As the location was perfect for us we decided to go back again despite my feelings that it was a bit tired and dated. This time I forked out for one of their larger “ Superior” rooms that had recently had a refurbishment. The photos displayed on website looked very good and at first glance a big improvement on our last visit. The reality is that the management have gone over the top with trying to make it look more trendy and none of it works. The “wardrobe” is some kind of open arty farty metal structure with just 5 coat hangers and just 3 feet of hanging space. Try getting all your shirts , jackets, trousers plus all my wife’s clothing in that!! There was nowhere to put smaller items such as under wear, socks etc. Included in this metal joke they had put the small box fridge on the lowest shelf at floor level along with the safe. ( Try accessing those with a back problem!! ) There were no bedside lockers which could have taken our smaller items either. The bathroom had hardly enough shelf space and the bath should have been ripped out and replaced as it was badly stained and someone had bunged a load of filler around the plug hole. The walls had been repainted in 2 shades of grey but not done with any care. There was even a splash of paint on the patio door that was just left there and the “ Decorator” had peeled off an information panel from the inside of the door which left a sticky outline but couldn’t be bothered to clean that off so he just painted over it. Having said all that , and there’s a few other minor things , there was clean bedding and towels , the wc had a strong flush , and there was plenty of hot water and the staff were very nice and did their best. After I complained about the lack of wardrobe space a proper wooden one was brought into our room the following day. It’s “ Get out of jail card” is the location and the great harbour view from our balcony. If that’s all you want then you won’t be disappointed..

A pleasant hotel in a great location. Rooms are large and well decorated and furnished with large bed and a sofa and table. Cleaned and serviced well each day. There is a mini fridge which was useful to put in soft drinks and wine and beer to drink on the ample terrace overlooking the harbour - fantastic view over to Valletta and the Sliema harbour. The hotel also provided shower gel and soap so no need to bring your own which saves weight on plane.
The hotel location is super being in the centre of Sliema seafront amongst the restaurants and bars. And surprisingly there is no noise or disturbance from them when in the room. Reception are helpful.
Breakfast at 8 euros is well worth it with a selection of hot and cold choices. The restaurant is on the 8th floor with great views over the harbour. The only thing was no English breakfast tea or black tea bags available. We had to bring some from our room!!
There are the two very small and slow lifts which could do with upgrading.
The roof terrace was not open as it was being improved so there was no sunbathing area or jacuzzi open which was disappointing.
Overall this hotel offers good accommodation at a reasonable price in a great location.

Booked this trip last minute, staff were helpful throughout our stay breakfast was cheap and definitely worth it. Can book it online before your stay or pay on arrival.

Hotel manager was present and helpful throughout our stay, constantly having to deal with demands from other guests who made requests for ‘slippers’ and ‘cotton’ - if you want slippers then go to the Hilton hotel, if your looking for an affordable and friendly place to stay then this is your place!

Lots of good places to eat close to this hotel, and lovely breakfast views. Will definitely come back soon

As the title says this place was perfect for us. We stayed here for two weeks. Around a 20 minute transfer from the airport. Book in was easy although we didn't arrive until 1 in the morning. I had asked for a balcony and high up which is just what we got. Room was large with king size bed and chairs, couch and table. There was a tv but never turned it on so no idea if it worked. Wi-fi was good. Bathroom was good, nothing great but clean and functional with the shower being over the bath. There was also a safe in the room. Tea and coffee making facilities also. What really made it was the balcony, large enough to hold two chairs and a table and the views over the harbour were fantastic, watching life and the boats go by and being treat to a firework display most evenings. Hotel is in a great location for the bus stops, ferries, bars and restaurants. Only a ten minute walk to other side of Sliema (behind the hotel) where there's more restaurants etc.
Lift's in the hotel are a tad rickety and very small. You're glad to reach your destination and get out. We were on the 7th floor so you must be aware that from about 6.30 am the staff start to get the dining room (8th floor) ready for breakfast (never had breakfast so can't comment). You hear every scrape of chair, drag of table and even the cutlery being made ready so if you're a light sleeper maybe 6th floor would be better.
Apparently there's a sun terrace and hot tub on the roof but again never visited so can't comment.
Probably the most disappointing thing was the cleaners. All noise, chit chat and trolleys banging down the corridor's from 7 am. We appreciate they have a job to do but i think being as noisy as you can (that's the way it seems) at 7 am is a touch to early and to much. We've never knew that you could russle rubbish bags so loudly and for so long. Thankfully I'm deaf in one ear and turned over.
Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would do so again.

Visited here for the second time for a two night stay in March. We booked a double economy room with basic amenities e.g. shower and WC, hairdryer, safe (surcharge), double bed and tv.
The TV had internet access meaning you could watch Netflix and YouTube which was brilliant when we came in early one night. Rooms are lovely and clean, maids do an awesome job and the staff are all friendly and helpful. Also let you store luggage with them before check in. All in all a brilliant little cheap find!

Lovely hotel. We paid extra for a sea view room which had stunning views of the harbour including Valletta. Definately worth waking up to! Staff are friendly and efficient. Great choice of hot and cold breakfast options and is served between 7.30 and 9.30am. Room was large and clean and serviced daily. Included small fridge and tea/coffee facilities. Lifts are small and can wait a while but efficient enough. Hotel is perfectly located next to the Valletta ferry terminal which has crossings every half hour and takes less than 15 mins. Also other commercial boats for day trips to Gozo and Comino are available a few steps away. Hotel is located at the 'Ferries' bus stops and very convenient for travelling around the Island, eg. The beaches in the North, Mdina etc, as well as buses to and from the airport. Overall had a great stay and would highly recommend.

This hotel has quite nice location in Sliema: just a few minutes from ferry to Valletta, tourist bus stop, tourist ships to Comino and Gozo. We paid for a SeaView room, and the view of Valetta was breathtaking.

Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Hotel serves quite decent breakfast on the rooftop, again very nice view, decent selection of food (even though the dishes were repeated day by day)

Room had good size, comfy bad, but bathroom was quite old. Toilet worked with problems, bath had damaged surface. During our 4 days stay hotel didn' t refill any bath supplies (shampoo and soap) apart from 2 tiny initial bottles. Bathroom didn't have any ventillation apart from tiny window, and was full of smells of the restaurant on the ground floor.
Wifi was bad. Our room was on 5th floor, and we were able to get internet only in the part of the room.
Room had a fridge and coffee maker, which was comfy

Spent 3 nights there, a great location right on the waterfront at Sliema, however the rooms are tired and in need of a refurb, particularly the bathroom of the room we were in. The TV didn;t work properly, the room safe had been locked closed, the shower head over the bath only worked when there was enough water pressure, not enough power sockets for things like phone chargers etc. It was clean and the price was good. Breakfast was okay apart from the coffee machine breaking down regularly, not enough cutlery and staff who stood around when tables needed clearing. The lifts are tiny- 2 people only. jacuzzi on the roof left open to the elements and rain water.
