We arrived at The Victoria pretty late at night and was shown straight to our room. within minutes we were unfortunate to see, capture and dispose of a horrid little visitor. As it was late, we just wanted to get to bed, although I was uneasy !! We emailed the front desk, including a picture and said if we found another we would want to be moved. we received a reply instantly, apologising.
the next morning we were offered an upgrade and the manager even came to the room to profusely apologise. The hotel acted superbly and assured us that this was a one off....We didn't see another for our whole visit . We appreciate that this is a warm island and there will be creatures.....But we didn't want any boarding with us !!
The rest of the visit went well and we really enjoyed our stay. We were on a B and B basis and we only went for breakfast once and was not impressed. My husband was looking forward to a fully cooked breakfast whilst I wanted a continental. My husband changed his mind after seeing the bacon, it looked boiled, very pale and swimming in what looked like water ? There wasn't a croissant to be seen and there was only natural, plain yogurts, no fruit varieties. We thought maybe we'd arrived too late at 10.15 ( breakfast is served until 10.30 ) so the next morning we ordered breakfast via room service. Again we were very disappointed.
On a happier note, the room was lovely, the staff helpful and always polite and house keeping were faultless.
This was our 3rd stay at The Victoria and we would certainly return again.

I cannot thank the hotel's staff for both the Palace and Victoria enough for making our holiday a memorable one. We stayed in room 732 which is a newly refurbished Executive Suite and it was just simply amazing!
The room is very modern, spacious and very clean. The room is huge and it can easily be used as a family room since it has 2 large double beds included. It also has a very spacious lounge area with a sofa while also having free tea and coffee making facilities which one can enjoy. The room also has a large balcony which includes a private Sauna which is an amazing touch to the room!
All the staff were very helpful and a special thanks goes to: Charles, Dorianne and Shawn at the front desk were they helped us out and went out of their way to make sure we had an amazing weekend.
A special thanks also goes to Mark, Lawrence, Jovin and Martin working in the Talk of Town and also in the 9th floor Pool area.
We spent most of our time at the roof top pool were the view is just amazing and the food was also delicious. Even our 7 month old daughter enjoyed it very much and she can't wait to come over once again!
The hotel is taking Covid-19 pre-cautions very seriously and housekeeping are working around the clock to make sure that everywhere is spotless and safe for everyone. One can easily see that all public areas are kept pristine and also cleaned multiple times. This made my family feel safe and put our minds at rest because we are staying at a super clean property.
I cannot thank the staff enough for making our stay a memorable one and we will not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone since I cannot fault anything during our holiday.

Positioned at the top of a steep road which may cause some issues for people with walking difficulties, the hotel was well situated in Sliema...close to the waterfront & shops. Rooms were spacious and very well appointed with a good sized balcony, staff were helpful & friendly without being too intrusive & the hotel was spotless. Breakfast was a typical buffet affair, the cakes were to die for! And the breakfast room was very grand. Pool was nice, with great views across Sliema, plenty of loungers too. The hotel is listed as a 4* but I’d struggle to give it that.
Firstly the staff have been fantastic across the hotel but especially reception lovely friendly and helpful so they get 5* no problem.
It’s the food and hotel itself that’s really lacking starting with breakfast.
It’s cheap orange/pineapple etc juice from a carton or syrup not fresh as listed, the breakfast serials are cheap cardboard imitations of proper cornflakes etc the mini croissants were over cooked / burnt every day.
The towels in the room have been washed so many times they are super thin and I could see though them in parts (worse than any budget hotel I’ve stayed in) the seals in the bathroom need replacing, mattress old and tired and double bed just two singles pushed together so intimacy impossible without one of you on the uncomfortable crack. The toilet paper is the cheapest I’ve ever experienced just appalling so having to use 10 sheets at a time total false economy.
The location is great you are central to both sides so can walk down the hill to the ferry or the seafront in 10mins but they are steep hills.
Lots and lots of building work around the hotel starting with heavy drills at 7am every week day so very noisy.
We would def not stay here again as the prices they charge don’t reflect the tired state of the place.

We have stayed at this hotel twice. We decided to stay the second time on our second holiday to Malta, because the first visit was a very positive experience. The reception desk has some the most friendly and kind staff ever seen. The breakfast is generous with typical British style breakfast. My fellow Americans, beware, the bacon is limp and there are mushrooms, tomatoes and beans for breakfast! ;) The rooms are very nice with clean white sheets. Our second stay, the room was even nicer, with a small sitting room, second TV and a balcony. There is a tea kettle and instant coffee and tea bags, a fridge, and coffee mugs and wine glasses ready in the room. The bathroom had a shower and a very large bathtub. The restaurant on the first floor serves very generous portions and does special themed nights each night of the week with a special price. We highly recommend staying here. The only negative thing that happened here was once there wasn’t hot water when I took a shower. On the bright side, the pool is really nice and my husband really enjoyed the sauna.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Victoria Hotel in March 2020. The staff were very welcoming and we can't wait to go back.
We had two excellent rooms on the 6th floor with an interconnecting door which made our stay so enjoyable. Facilities were excellent, both in the rooms and in the dining room where we enjoyed a good breakfast each day.
The hotel is in a quiet street with easy access to the sea front and the harbour on the other side.
Special thanks to Mr. Charles Portelli, the front desk manager, for being so helpful.

We just had a one-week holiday in Malta during August 2021 at the AX Victoria hotel. The hotel is situated in Sliema. The location is very good as it is near all the shops in Sliema and restaurants as well. The hotel staff is very polite and very helpful especially the reception. There is a hospital just a few meters away from the hotel which is very convenient for Antigen/PCR tests. It is a short walk to the ferries operating tours to Comino, Gozo island, and also Valletta. Late check-out at 4 PM instead of 12 Noon was granted by the hotel even though the hotel was running out almost full occupancy. The hotel was clean and quiet and the internet speed was fast. We also enjoyed a full breakfast at the restaurant in the morning with lots of varieties of cold and hot items including some local dishes like Maltese scrambled eggs, bread, and cheese. There is a beautiful beach almost 15 minutes walk from the hotel (a hidden gem) called Balluta bay. Our room was spacious and clean and we enjoyed a king-size bed with a nice balcony. The maintenance was responding very quickly whenever you need them. Wearing masks is still mandatory inside the hotel and all its areas. If you skip the housekeeping for two days, you will get a 10 Euro voucher which you can use inside the hotel for food and beverage.

Had a really lovely relaxing stay at the AX Victoria all the staff from front desk waiting staff cleaners were all very attentive polite nothing was too much trouble from the moment we arrived to sorting a taxi to take us back to the airport
The room was fresh clean tidy lovely bathroom fresh towels.
One of the best breakfast buffet everything you could want from full cooked, pancakes omelette, fresh fruit, cereals, fruit juice, all fresh well presented the staff very good when clearing tables as very unobtrusive and efficient.
Bar restaurant served lovey food at very reasonable prices great pizza and have special nights good service.
Pool spa steam sauna very nice used it twice daily very relaxing
A great central place to stay when visiting Malta as great bus service to all areas of the island.
Very reasonable priced hotel great value for money
Busy but felt very spacious always tables and seating at breakfast quiet location with a ten minute walk to the local bars harbour buses restaurants etc
Worth a visit as the service is some of the best I have encountered

We stayed for 1 week which was plenty of time to see Malta. The hotel was perfectly located within a 5-10min walking distance of the ferry point (to Valletta) and all the main restaurants and bars. The hotel room was very spacious with a fridge, kettle etc house keeping was a little inconsistent (some days towels/floor mats missing or coffee/milk not replenished) but towards the end of our trip we had a change in staff and it significantly improved. Breakfast was fine, there was a chef cooking fried eggs but no other options (ie omelette/pancakes) but the selection was good (pastries were really nice) hot and cold selection. Some days the hot food was only warm. We should have said something but went more continental most days. Coffee machine self serve (late/cappuccino options were good). Reception staff were lovely. Very helpful and attentive. The restaurant on the top floor (TemptAsian) near the pool, was brilliant. Make sure you book - absolutely amazing selection, service and food. Would recommend and would stay again.

We had 2 rooms booked for 6 nights as a family. Had emailed the hotel beforehand for 2 rooms next to each other and they had them ready on check-in. All staff are very friendly and welcoming at all times.
Kids loved using the heated indoor pool which had long opening hours.
Hired a car and used the basement car park for 2 Euros a day, was sometimes tricky finding a space that was not reserved.
Breakfasts were varied and plentiful , lots of choice, great that it had a late close at 10.30am .
Rooms were very comfortable and large with great channel choice on the TV.
Would certainly visit again.
