Staff are friendly. Bear in mind that their elevator is shut down from 11pm to 7 am due to noise. Rooms are clean and a little tight. Breakfast was fine. We stayed there to catch the ferry. There are beautiful waterfalls called Krkjufell about 30minutes by car-- worth going by.

The only chain hotel we stayed in during our road trip was a disappointment. Service was good but the hotel was overpriced (most expensive accommodation on our trip). Room was smallish and bathroom new but a bit small and lacking storage. The lobby and guest areas of the hotel were very dated and the entrance not great. Having to drag... More

When we first opened the door to our room, my wife and I both felt we had been hit by a wave of sufficatingly stuffy air, as if our room had not been entered in decades. We asked to switch rooms, but the front desk advised that the hotel was full. He said the smell was due to the fact... More

We have stayed at a number of hotels in Iceland, and this was the most expensive and most disappointing. The hotel has an excellent location on a hill overlooking the bay, but from the outside it appears run down, and on the inside it is without any charm at all. Our room was small, but clean. It was poorly equipped:... More

Clean, comfortable. Friendly staff, good buffet breakfast. Lovely spot up on a hill overlooking the town. Convenient to everything and it is in an easy walking town. Also, the staff will waken you to see the Northern Lights if you request it. Funny curved swinging shower doors are remarkably effective.

Bedding was stained. Pillows were full of dust mites and drool stained. Lots of dust on top of headboard and around bed. We slept on top of the blanket fully clothed to avoid touching the bedding. Stay away if you can help it.

This hotel stands on a hill overlooking beautiful town of Stykkisholmur, spectacular view from our room. We got newly refurbish room with one of the best beds I have ever slept in a hotel. The room was very spacious and nicely decorated. In the night you don't hear a sound from the outside it is amazing. We had a dinner... More

Room was comfortable and convenient. Icelandic hotels seem to like to open the shower to the whole bathroom making the floor considerably wet after showering. The worst part was the really bad wifi. It was free when I could access it. I got better wifi in the town's open wifi than at the hotel! A bit of a corporate and... More

The hotel has a great location with great views on the hill. Stayed for 2 nights and found it to be a very nice place. Enough room for our things and some the best blackout curtains to shield the midnight sun. Breakfast was good. Would stay there again.
