This region in Iceland is very popular with tourists and this is convenient near the Golden Circle. It is a farm house with an accompanying building for guests. Unlike many guesthouses these rooms have en suite bathrooms and small touches of personality -- photos, figurines, etc. We found many guesthouses in Iceland to be fairly spartan. Wonderful breakfast buffet in...

This guesthouse is just outside of Vik, off the main road. Very quite place with sheep in the fields. Owners were very friendly and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Our room was very spacious and clean

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The guesthouse is charming, and the room was very comfortable and clean. Our breakfasts were really good - with lots of choices. The location makes it a great place to stay while you tour the nearby areas. The staff were all so helpful and very pleasant --- highly recommend!

We stayed one night at this delightful guesthouse. The staff was friendly and suggested places to eat in Vik as we checked in late. A very quiet and peaceful location. The bed was comfortable and the furnishings fitting of a farmhouse setting. Not sure about price and value as our trip was booked through Nordic Visitor.

The Guesthouse Steig is different from many of the places we stayed in Iceland, it's not right on the road! Please be aware it is part of a farm, there are working farm buildings nearby. There is nothing unpleasant about the setting but don't expect manicured lawn and gardens. We were greeted by three dogs that brought us sticks to...

Really impressed with this guesthouse. Room was clean, simple and homely. The staff were very friendly and did everything they could to help. The location is nicely between Vik and Skogar so great for waterfalls, glacier walks and puffin spotting. We arrived late on the first night and the kitchen kindly stayed open to feed us. Thank you.

My traveling partner and I absolutely adored this hotel. It's perfectly situated between the Skogafoss waterfall and Vik, right off the main road. We stayed here for one night before traveling onward to Hofn. It's no frills, a light warning for those who are used to 4-star+ accommodations. However, the bed was comfortable; the shower was great; and the breakfast...

We stayed there for one night as part of our trip around Iceland. The guesthouse is a little way off the ring road and is a part farm / part guesthouse. There are close to 20 rooms, with private or shared bathroom + a kitchen and living room reserved for guests. Toys for kids, which was a pleasant surprise for...

So my husband and I didn't stay here because it was booked, just like everything Easter weekend! The lady at the desk (maybe the owner?) went out of her way and called 6-7 places to find us a place to stay the night. We really appreciated it and just want to leave a review to say thanks for this kindness!

Very peaceful and quaint. Our room had a TV, a bathroom, everything worked and was spotless. There was a nice lounge with a view and a kitchen with all the basic necessities (except for oven). Breakfast was good. Toast and 3 types of bread were provided, yoghurt, a bit of fruit, cheese and ham. Tea, coffee, juice and water. WiFi...
