I stayed for 4 nights in January before going on a photo tour of Iceland and will be returning for another 3 nights in a few days. It is a fantastic hotel. I stayed in a superior room 505 overlooking Austurvöllur square which was perfect for me. The staff were all very helpful

We loved the Apotek Hotel perfectly located in central Reykjavik. The staff greeted us warmly and offered good advice about restaurants and tours. The breakfast spread was included and was of high quality. The room was modern, clean and spacious with views of the park

The front desk staff was always willing to go out of its way to answer any question, and the answers were always helpful. I was helped with where was best to see the Northern Lights, where cooked Icelandic hot dogs were sold, where a good grocery store and pharmacy were, and so

This was a beautiful hotel in a great location. The room was clean and bigger than what we were used to on this trip. It was an easy walk to some if the main shopping streets and attractions of Reykjavik and also very convenient to get day tours from around the corner at bus

Dear samantha_easton86, Thank you for your kind review and for sharing your thoughts with the Tripadvisor community. I am happy you enjoyed your stay with us and liked our hotel. We do offer our guests to book a room with us either with or without breakfast included. We find that most guests like to be able to choose if they want to include the breakfast - or rather book the room at a lower price without breakfast. I hope you will visit us again in the near future, Warm regards, Sigrún Pétursdóttir Hotel Manager

Is the standard room bed size good enough for 2 adults and a small kid ?
The bed is massive, our room has space for a small bed for a child but I’m sure the hotel would provide this and a room to suit. We were room 212.

I think it was about $35-40 per person. A bit annoying because we waited for the bus to fill up before it would leave the airport (30 min). Then you get off at a bus terminal near downtown and take smaller shuttle bus to a stop closer to your hotel. They don’t stop at specific hotels but the stops seem to be pretty close to most hotels. We wanted a quicker trip back to airport so took a taxi but that ended up costing $150 do bus is cheaper.

The hotel does not have a shuttle - Keflavik airport is about 50 mins drive away. We used fly bus who take you to the edge of Reykjavik and then by mini bus to the hotel - Grey line offer a similar service. Too expensive for a cab - the system worked really well both ways - they have it down to a fine art.
