A horrible place! Dirty, disgusting! We had rooms in the cellar, litterally! The "welcoming party" was one of the kind: "no no I do not work here, I am just doing the books but I can show you to the rooms"... Well, it was an experience we will regret!!!!! Two nights there; and you do appreciate getting home again. That... More

I stopped in Iceland for a few days on my way to Europe. As a solo traveler, my needs were few. This place mostly satisfied them. I arrived early, as the manager told me in a gruff manner, but allowed me to store my bags and use the bathroom in the hall. Once I had the key, things improved, loved... More

We stayed at the Travel Inn guest house for 3 nights during March. The place doesn't look great from the outside - which was off putting..... But as long is somewhere is clean - I am fine with that, and we weren't expecting luxury. However, unfortunately the bathroom seriously wasn't clean and had a significant mould problem. The floor boards... More

This guest house is only five minutes walk from the BSI bus terminal which is where the airport transfers generally arrive into the city. The Hallgrimskirkja and city hall are only about 10 mins walk in either direction so all in, this is in a fairly good location. There is a lack of proper dining facilities nearby though. The bus... The place was dirty, holes in the sheets, the slats would not stay on bed and my brother in law even fell through his bed when he sat on the end of it. We had to open the window because one day we went different directions and only had one key, so we left the window open so he could... More

We (three 25-year-old friends) had booked a family room for eight nights from this guesthouse 4 months before we arrived to Iceland. Below, there is shortly listed our experiences regarding this guesthouse: Good: - Location in between the BSI bus station and city center (easy to book tours and hop on buses) - There is an excellent stereo radio, basic... Stayed here for almost a week and had a fine experience. Like others have said you have to call a number that is posted on the back of the building unfortunately for us we didn't have a Phone that could call Icelandic numbers so we had to walk across the street to the gas station to buy a SIM card.... I recognise something from every other review! The location is fantastic, only a couple of minutes walk from the main bus station but, on a cold, wet, grey September evening it did appear that the building was abandoned. The entrance is around the back of the building and we were fortunate that guests with a key were close behind us... More
