I paid £ thousands of pounds for a four night experience at this hotel. Did not get what Discover holidays sold me. Whilst the staff were pleasant and people helpful IF I wanted to stay at a hostel type set up I could have booked a low cost B&B and had a better experience 1) Hotel staff walked in on...

Dear CheverLondon_UK First of all, thank you for sharing your experience with us. I am delighted to find you mentioning the helpfulness of our staff members twice and how pleasant they truly are. They would have been happy to come up and show how the shower works. Grand Hotel Reykjavik is a 4 star hotel, officially rated by Vakinn, Icelands...

After spending two long days in a mini bus on a tour, and two very very basic hotels. Walking into this hotel was amazing! We arrived approx. 9pm after our 2 day long tour ended. Having not slept much the two nights before I was exhausted. I had booked an exec room with a view as it was my BF's...

This hotel was an option as an "upgrade" to the Icelandic air vacation, so I expected a bit more. After being here, I am not sure it's worth it. It is a nice hotel. The rooms are just fine. The staff are VERY kind. They just don't seem to be set up for independent travelers. They have many large tour...

Dear Rowidaho. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We do not put guests in Atrium rooms unless they have booked those rooms, so I want to follow up with Iceland Air about why you where booked there and not in our superior or Executive rooms. Would you be kind enough to contact me personally. I am not allowed...

Stayed for two nights here in Februay. Had a free upgrade to an executive suite. Very nice room. Beautiful bathroom, great shower. The staff were wonderful on reception. Location was good, all booked excursions picked you up from front of hotel but the hotel is close enough to the old harbour to walk to. Walk to Perlan took about 30...

I was somewhat hesitant to book this hotel given some negative reviews, but glad I ignored them and stayed there as I just loved it! We had an executive room with view which was on the 10th floor and had a great view of the city all the way to the harbor. Room and bath were clean, attractive and efficiently...

The hotel is located on a busy main road which is very noisy so if you're a light sleeper, request a room away from the road or take ear plugs! The hotel is about a 25 minute walk into the centre. The hotel offers a free one way shuttle bus 3 times a day, or a taxi will cost around...

I booked this for my wife's 50th weekend away and wish we had chosen somewhere with a bit more character and life. The staff are not very friendly the rooms stark and service pretty poor. I asked when booking for a room on the high floor and was told that would be ok. When we arrived we were out in...

The hotel was great, good size rooms, clean and warm, excellent staff, attentive and responsive. The bathroom had a shower and a bath with floor heating. The breakfast was excellent, lots of options for every diet requirements, all very tasty. The restaurant is not open all day, but serves lunch from 12 to 2 and dinner from 6 (coincides with...

Extremely comfortable hotel, exceptional service. Good variety of food for breakfast, does not get too boring. A little far from town if walking on extreme temperatures. Concierge extremely helpful. Stunning view of snow capped mountains.
