This is a central hotel with character and faded glory. Lots of dark wood panelling everywhere. Didn't try the restaurant which is said to be very fine as the prices were off-putting. The reception staff where incredibly helpful and patient.

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay here. Easy free private car parking, and our room was available late morning. Staff at reception extremely helpful and friendly. Decor of hotel beautiful (not the exterior). Dark wood panelling, paintings and sculptures, antiques lend a classy and stylish feel to the place. Very well located, 5 minutes walk from 'old town' area....

The Holt Hotel - is in a good location, its in a quiet side street but in very easy walking distance to the two main streets. - The decor in the rooms and bathrooms is a little dated/old fashioned but all very clean. - The main areas of the hotel are dark panelled with a good and differing display of...

Our flight landed at an ungodly hour of the morning, resulting in our arrival at the hotel 8-10 hours before check-in. Of course, our room was not ready, but the hotel found us a very cozy nook to nap in for a few hours. Our room was available at 9am, 6 hours before check-in. Hotel Holt has a wonderful atmosphere,...

We stayed here overnight before heading out on a road trip across Iceland. The hotel is not fancy but comfortable and the staff is extremely helpful. Added bonus is the free parking right beside the hotel. The hotel is located a block away from Skolavordustigur street where there are restaurants and shops. At the end of Skolavordustigur is the Hallgrimskirkja...

I had an excellent week long stay in October 2015. Visited with my daughter and her family (including my three wonder granddaughters - all beautiful young ladies. The breakfasts were both tasty and plentiful. The rooms cleaned each day, and I had a beautiful view of downtown Reykjavik. The only problem I had, was that I lost a watch while...

We were there less than 24 hours while on a layover but that was plenty of time to give it a good review. Hotel in a great location, great atmosphere created with the artwork, helpful front desk staff, nice breakfast. We were given a "suite" for our one night stay. The bathroom is small but there was an additional tub...

I was traveling solo and found this hotel just the ticket. The staff are extremely friendly, especially Elena who was always happy to answer my questions. The breakfast was good, nothing fancy but good enough. I always founds something to eat. The restaurant in the hotel was fancy and fantastic. I reviewed it on my blog if you are interested...

I only stayed here one night! Location: Not directly in the middle of all the buzz, but a few walking blocks from all the main attraction that is downtown. Staff: Amazing, friendly, very helpful. Interior: Pristine & spotless. It has the old classic hotel vibe. This is not the modern hotel you might be looking for, so please beware if...

I really enjoyed my recent stay at Hotel Holt. Highlight was the breakfast - huge selection with both hot eggs and bacon as well as the more standard bread/meat/cheese/yogurt/fruit selection and also plenty of fish and veggies. My single room was always very clean. Bathroom was also clean and very nice, but SO small. I mean, smaller than a cruise...
