The Hotel Borg was pleasant but, it does have some shortcomings & disappointments. Therefore, I will simply list their "Good" & their "Inferior" points below. But first a special thanks to Sigurjor at the front desk for all his help & his courteous nature. Siqurjor & Daniel were the anomaly of the "house" staff; they were pleasant and very helpful....

We spent 4 nights in the hotel and would recommend it to anyone. Our room was very spacious with a separate lounge, large bathroom and very comfortable bedroom. Staff were professional, very friendly, well spoken and always helpful. Breakfast was European, adequate variety and well presented. The spa was a bit of a let down. Apart from the rather small...

We arrived in typical fashion jet lagged and grumpy... Check in wasn't for another six hours and as soon as we got to The Borg the staff quickly did everything in their power to give us open rooms. They came through. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff was amazing. I see a lot of people complain about...

Location of the hotel was excellent, but we left feeling disappointed by the experience. Firstly, there was excessive noise from adjacent rooms and the club/bar until 3am. Secondly, the hotel was unaware our booking included breakfast. This apparent ‘system error’ required us to produce the booking confirmation. When we did, staff at reception only looked at the bottom of the...

The Hotel Borg is centrally located, charming, and comfortable. We enjoyed staying in a suite overlooking Parliament square. The restaurant was not the hotel's strong point, but the new spa is promising and the entire staff -- especially at the front desk -- was very good. They doubled as a concierge desk, and were helpful in making arrangements for sightseeing...

My mother-in-law used to come to Hotel Borg in the 1940's to dance in the beautiful Art Deco ballroom to the big bands. The lovely Art Deco motif still persists and lends a wonderful air to this historic downtown hotel. Rooms are elegantly appointed, and like everything in Iceland, it all works and makes sense. The rooms facing the city...

Art Deco style hotel. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, the best part of the stay. Nice location. Quiet every night aside from the weekends which you can hear the bar/night club- which is not affiliated with the hotel- pumping club music till 4:30 in the morning even from the top floor. Room was tidy. Top floor. Angled roof- which took...

We stayed for four nights midweek in December. The hotel is centrally situated on a lovely square. It was quiet during the week but other reviews suggest it may be noisy at the weekends. We stayed on the top floor with lovely views of the square and skyline. We upgraded the room to deluxe. It wasn't huge but well-equipped (even...

Hotel is in the very heart of the city, walking distance to all attractions. It is decorated with style, and elegance. Rooms are small but comfortable. Staff is very friendly, polite and helpful. Overlooking a square, the hotel is surrounded by loads of nice cafes & restaurants and is a short walk from the local designer shops. A bit pricy...
