Reykjavik Residence Hotel earns rave reviews for its pristine cleanliness and stylish atmosphere, complete with modern decor and thoughtful touches, although a few guests have called out the soundproofing as less than ideal. The attentive service, including generous breakfast baskets and fresh bread delivery, is frequently praised by travelers. While some consider the hotel and certain services slightly overpriced, the value is found in amenities such as the kitchen facilities. Its central location garners widespread acclaim for convenience to local sights and dining, and the rooms are celebrated for their comfort and modern amenities.

Had a great stay here. We had the studio apt and it was the perfect size for 2 people. Very clean. Staff very helpful and friendly. I thought bed was super comfy. My sister with a bad back had to sleep on pullout couch instead of the bed because it was firmer.
Had 2 minor aggravations, but other than those had a great stay. The hotel advertises if you are gluten free they will accommodate that food allergy. I confirmed before arrival we would be getting gluten free bread. Out of a 5 day stay it only actually happened once after major persistence on our part. No idea why if they offer it they could not follow through. If you are GF there is a great GF bread at Korean grocery store. Other issue was the induction stove. 2 of us could not figure it out. Turns out you have to have pan on the burner before it will heat up. Who knew? Instructions would have helped.
One of the best amenities is the reception area. Great place to stop by to warm up and hang out on the couches while waiting for room to be ready. Staff very knowledgeable and helpful in reception. The reception area has two large bathrooms and even a shower. It was awesome we could stow our bags and retrieve them once room was ready. Loved plenty of coffee available in our room. Definitely would stay here again.

I’m so glad we found Reykjavík Residence Hotel. It was very clean and quiet. The staff was kind and helpful. They were always in contact with me for all the questions I had prior to our visit. Instead of the breakfast we opted for the “basket” in our room each morning. The basket was so delicious. Each day we received a loaf of homemade bread, hard boiled eggs, sandwich bread, sandwich meat (ham or salami), two different types of fruit, Nutella, butter, honey, jams, soft cheese, sandwich spread, small chocolates, and skyr (yogurt). This was more than enough for the four of us for breakfast so we usually had it for lunch as well. Our room was stocked with dishes, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper, and tea bags. The room had a dishwasher, oven, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, iron, and a powerful hairdryer, along with enough shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and dish soap that was refilled by housekeeping as needed. The housekeepers even put our dirty dishes in the dishwasher and started it for us while we were out sightseeing. There was plenty of hanging space and drawers for our five day stay. The hotel is conveniently located to the main downtown shopping area and near bus stops 6, 9, 10, and 14, and lots of coffee shops and restaurants. There are two small washers and dryers in the basement that are free to use. It did take a while for our wet outerwear to dry, however. Overall, we loved our experience at the hotel and I would definitely recommend Reykjavík Residence Hotel.

We stayed as a family of four in a two bedroom apartment for two nights on our first visit to Reykjavík.
The hotel is centrally located close to many restaurants and nearby to many tourist attractions.
The reception has recently moved to no.60 rather than no.45 as we were told. Luckily a member of staff found us looking lost and redirected us. The accommodation is dotted around the street in a number of buildings. Our apartment was at no.78 so after check-in there was another trek to find the correct building. Check-in was efficient if a little clinical.

When we eventually got to the the apartment, we were pleasantly surprised to find a very modern clean two bedroom apartment which was fine for our needs albeit a little cosy but nonetheless very comfortable.

The fridge in the kitchenette was already stocked with the breakfast basket for the next morning although you are given the choice of an a la carte breakfast in the hotel restaurant which is what we opted for. It was definitely the right choice but again takes a little finding and is not clearly identifiable. However the hunt was worth it and we enjoyed an excellent and plentiful breakfast on both mornings we were there. You do have to book the time of your breakfast as the restaurant gets very busy!

The apartment was well appointed, clean and comfortable. Cereal, juice and milk is provided for free along with a great coffee maker. There is a dishwasher and cooking and cleaning utensils for those wishing to cook and clean.

My family enjoyed a very comfortable stay and we even caught sight of the northern lights which was a surprise given the light pollution in the middle of town.

Check out was much easier and staff were very helpful in organising and communicating with our pre-booked taxi to take us to our next destination.

I would happily recommend this hotel and would have no hesitation in staying here again.

We stayed 2 adults and one teen early Jan and loved the apartments. They were clean, well stocked and the location was fabulous, walking distance to the sights of Reykjavík.

The apartments are spread over several buildings (all in close proximity to one another and the main reception). TVs picked up English channels which was handy when a storm hit.

Our apartment was well stocked with coffee & Hot Chocolate pods, apple juice, cereal and in the bathroom there was an abundance of L'Occitane products including hand wash, body lotion, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. If you are packing on a budget then leave the wash bag at home, we didn't touch ours! There was also a hair dryer and bath robes.

We had booked several excursions (Golden Circle, Northern Lights and Blue Lagoon) and all picked us up from the number 14 bus stop which is down the hill approx 5 minute walk from the hotel. Not a problem at all, just cold as you wait, as you are opposite the open water........

The 'hotel bar' was lovely and cosy, staff friendly and like most places in town, they offered a happy hour which was nice.

All in all in the trip couldn't have been better, staff are so friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

I cannot believe how great this place was! Perfect location, our particular room was next door to their hidden wine bar, perfect! Walking distance to just about every where.
Apartment was modern, clean and comfortable. My only criticism is there's only one mirror that is in the bathroom with no natural light, not great for a poorly sighted, short, middle aged woman to do her make up with, they need a mirror by the door.... Otherwise...
The best bit is the complimentary milk, cornflakes and juice because I'm not a big eater in the morning so a few Kelloggs washed down with their complimentary tea or coffee was just brilliant!
In the bathroom there are L'occitane shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, hand-wash and body lotion, none of that cheap stuff.
The room was really quiet, it also had a little balcony.
The staff are really helpful. Sourced me a sewing kit, prompt wake up calls, everything was superb. We intend to revisit Reykjavik and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

We spent a week at the Reykjavik Residence and enjoyed it immensely. The check in desk is at Hverfisgata 60, however there are several properties, so you will have to walk from there after check-in. They are happy to store your luggage while you wait if you are early. We chose the breakfast option and it was excellent. A basket containing deli meats, several kinds of cheeses, butter, hard boiled eggs , jam, skyr, fruit, and chocolates was delivered to the room each afternoon, and a loaf of fresh bread was brought to the door each morning. Coffee , milk and juice are also in the room, the kitchenette is well appointed. Beds were super comfy, and although we had windows open there was no noise issue. Towards the end of our stay we switched breakfast to the restaurant, which was also excellent. Would absolutely stay here again the next time we visit Reykjavik!

We stayed in a junior suite with our two children ages 5 and 8. Our suite was spacious, well appointed, and had everything we needed and more! The beds were very comfortable and the entire building was clean. This residence hotel is the perfect location for central Reykjavik restaurants, sites etc and is a block away from bus stop 14 where tours, city buses, and transportation to/from airport and the Blue Lagoon pick up and drop off.
The breakfast basket was brought to us each day and filled to the brim with fresh vegetables, fruits, cheeses, bread, Icelandic skyr, butter, jams, nutella etc etc. There was fresh milk and juice, a coffee pot with coffee, tea and cocoa, and a box of corn flake cereal. The BEST part of the breakfast was the fresh, warm loaf of Sandholt bread delivered fresh every morning to our door - literally - fresh bread every morning.
Check in and check out were simple...we missed that check out had moved addresses to be sure to double check that before you go. I highly recommend this apartment hotel!

We could not have been happier with our stay. The apartment was just perfect both in its setting and facilities along with its location within Reykjavic. We really felt like we were part of the experience as opposed to the feeling at a more traditional hotel. We had everything we could have hoped for in our room including complimentary milk, juice, and cereal in our kitchen. We were so very glad that we purchased the early check-in on the day of our arrival. Be prepared that it can be a bit of a walk (about 3 blocks) from the bus drop-off location mandated by the City of Reykjavic. We enjoyed every day we were at this hotel and being located so centrally within the city. What a deal!

We stayed in the presidents suites which were mini apartments, with bedroom, en suite, sitting room and kitchenette. The rooms were lovely, beautifully decorated, warm, cosy and peaceful. The location was perfect, close to town centre and within walking distance of most of the key areas you'd want to visit. Breakfast baskets with fruit, cheeses, cold meats, skyr, boiled eggs and fresh bread (even gluten-free bread for me) were delivered daily which made for leisurely breakfasts at home without the need to venture out into the snow. These were also so generous that we even had enough for picnic lunch snacks! Wine of the month in the mini bar was delicious and very reasonably priced. Overall this was a very enjoyable place to stay and I would thoroughly recommend, thank you Reykjavik Residences, we had a perfect honeymoon stay!

Just home from a fabulous four nights at Reykjavík Residence Hotel to celebrate our 20 year wedding anniversary. We were a family of 4 (two adults, two children) staying in room 705 a one bedroom apartment in the Tannery building. The apartment was on the first floor and was cosy, modern, clean and perfect as a base for our short stay. Beds were comfy, towels, milk, apple juice, cornflakes and coffee pods were provided and replenished every day if needed. We were out all day every day and when we returned to the apartment had been tidied, the beds had been made up, the kitchenette area cleaned, dishwasher put on and towels replaced if needed. Plenty of toilet tolls, l’occitane hand wash, shampoo, conditioner and shower gel were provided in the bathrooms. The lounge and kitchenette area of the apartment faced into the little courtyard and the entrance to Port 9 Wine Bar but we were not aware of any noise from people coming and going or the very few sitting outside. The location was excellent and close to the main shopping street, restaurants and bars. We didn’t order the breakfast basket but got the most amazing cinnamon buns and pain au chocolates from Brauð & Co. Bakery to have on the go. Accessing the apartment with the phone app was easy once we downloaded the FLEXIPASS app. It only allowed the key code on one device unless you contacted reception. Parking was easy and cheap on the streets close by if you parked in zones P2 or P3 (cheapest). We paid by credit card as couldn’t get the Parking app to work on the street using mobile data. We would highly recommend staying in The Tannery building and if we every came back to Reykjavík would definitely book again.

Hello! The main reception building address was given to us as Hverfisgata 60, 101, Reykjavík. We were able to find it using google maps on being dropped off by bus in the city centre. Luckily the ‘60’ was clearly marked so not too difficult to find.
