Cool, unique spot near a sculpture garden. Very mellow and off the beaten path. The best thing about this place was the INNKEEPER SIGGI! After 2 days in Iceland there wasn't much contact with the locals, the only person that was generous enough with his time and energy was SIGGI. He made our entire trip to Iceland, he will probably...

Seriously, the best feature of this guesthouse is the books. The library here is very diverse and in several languages. The rooms are small and cozy. Television is for owner only. His name is Thor, and he's not very helpful. Siggi is the other man here, and he was much more helpful. I only stayed one night. If you like...

Advertised as 'smoke free'... Smells old musty smokey mixed with good ol fresh smoke. This Hostel is ok, but way off the beaten path, so have a car. Streets/Roads aren't well marked in Iceland, so keep a nice tab of data available on your smart phone to GPS your way ANYWHERE. Also, no hair dryer. Lots of excuses. No black...

Stayed there for 4 nights and this is what I have to say. Room: - Booked a large room to fit the family (4 adults). - Room came with a balcony that overlooks some houses; we could also see one of Reykjavik’s main roads and some very picturesque fells at the background - They were generous with the heating -...

There was no one to check me in, I had to wait 15 minutes in the cold outside. The entire place was extremely messy, papers where all over the table, food was left out, tools were on the floor. Apparently they did not know that I was coming to stay. I even had to help the poor housekeeper check online...

The new building manager was very helpful getting us into the guest house (the PIN for the lock-box had been changed) and was very pleasant to chat with whenever we saw one another. I learned a lot from him! The guest house is large, lots of open space and light, nice library on upper floor. The rooms are pleasant and...

I have to second the previous reviewer's description of the door and rude manager. According to the booking site reykjavikhotels.org, "CHECK IN PROCEEDURE: After you arrive in Iceland, if possible 1 hour before you arrive at the guesthouse, please call duty manager on (+354 6926671) or (+354 6626073) Alternative phone number: (+354 4962000)" So, we had our previous hotel call...

The entrance door is hard to open, from either inside or outside. We were trying to go out but could not open the door. After enough attempts, we gave up and decided to ask the mid-aged lady who worked there for help. She came to the door, appearing quite annoyed, but did open the door for us, and then said...

Iceland is crazy expensive. The peace house is much cheaper, has lots of natural light, multiple kitchens, lounge rooms and great room. the only catch is it would be best to have a car as it is located out in a residential area. We had a car and just went down to the supermarket to get dinner and brought it...

This property is a way out of town. Approx. 5 km. - 10 minute drive. We had a rental car so this was not an issue. There was a little confusion on arrival as there was no one to check us in. We happened to meet a couple who were staying there as well and they helped us sort things...
