Stayed at the Reykjavik Downtown Hostel in mid-January. The front desk service was exemplary and the hostel was clean, quiet and safe. The location is ideal - near the Old Harbor and shops/restaurants and Harpa. Great choice for the price. Nevertheless, it is a hostel and I really believe that next time I will choose a hotel strictly for the...

Group of 5 travelled in Mid jan 2017- Had booked the 10 bed dorm. Room- The 10 bed dorm has decent facilities with personal lockers and a shared bathroom within the bedroom. The beds are decent and sufficient for a good night's sleep.Carry your own duvet if you are taller since the ones provided are average sized. Heating is good...

Stayed for 4 nights in the first week of January. It was my first ever experience staying in a hostel and it was great! Room was spacious and clean. I stayed in the 4 beds dorm. There was a little bit of a mixed up, I thought I booked for a female only dorm but I got a mixed one....

Amazing place to stay at. Very clean and the staff are very helpful. It is not too far away from the downtown core and most places you want to visit are within walking distance. Was reasonably priced as compared to Icelandic prices. The breakfast is lacking and is not really worth what you pay for, but then food in Iceland...

This hostel is in a great location and the staff were always extremely helpful with everything from hiring a car to booking tours. They also had great recommendations for activities in Reykjavik (the phallological museum was a great one!). The rooms are clean with plenty of space for luggage and a large locker per person. You will need your own...

Very bad odor in the bathroom probably due to the lack of ventilation. Heater was not strong enough for such a spacious...

We stayed there for 2 days for New Year's Eve and made our booking way in advance. Rooms were clean and so was our private bathroom, we had good service, breakfast was good, beds comfy, but the lockers were small and I couldn't lock it with a normal luggage lock. It had a lock bar retainer and a padlock would...

I arrived early in the morning. Staff was extremely kind and allowed me to put down my bag and sit in the kitchen area until I could check in. The kitchen has a couch in the loft which is perfect for a nap. It is located perfectly near the main activities and staff is willing and able to book tours...

Clean, friendly and great location. Kitchen is well equipped - microwave, hobs, kettle and toaster. No grill or oven I guess for safety reasons like most hostels. Not far from supermarket and a short walk to the Main Street and tourist information (2-3 minutes). Would highly recommend for a cheap stay without letting standards slip.
