Would give 3.5 stars if possible. Great location - just outside city center. Some parking out front but otherwise must go down a side street for free parking overnight, but need to move during the day. Otherwise average. Rooms could use some updating. Front desk staff good. No way to control temp in the room.

An excellent location near to restaurants, the pedestrian mall with it's book shops bars and atmosphere. The breakfast was excellent. However, the room seemed rather small, the bathroom rather tired and he lobby rather old-fashioned.

We're here with a group and part of the wait staff are completely willing to accommodate the dinner guests. The hotel is nice but don't eat in the restaurant. We are part of a Globus tour group. The tour director was now aware of the menu, so we had no warning of what we were being served. The starter course...

Hello Glenn We are very sorry about how you felt about this dinner you and the group you were apart of. However all of our groups have set menus and that is something that is known for weeks before our guests arrive and the guide should have had that information. If there are any problem about that menu the guide...

This hotel was very nice. Our room was quiet, cozy, clean, and very modern. The breakfast was lovely and delicious. Staff were friendly too. Between 4pm and 10am you can park in the lots around the area, so we were still parked pretty close. After 10 many guests leave and you can move your car to a free lot right...

The location of the Kea is excellent being in the heart of Akureyri within easy walking of shops, bars, restaurants & the harbour. I was expecting a room on the small side as in most city hotels but delighted to find that we had been upgraded to what was possibly the best room in the hotel. I say room-correction, a...

Nice hotel. Pleasant and helpful staff. Excellent evening meals, well-presented. Clean bedrooms, but a little on the small side. Small bathrooms. Breakfast is good, with plenty of choice. Central to Akureyri, with shopping nearby.

The Kea has decent rooms, with small but functional bathrooms. Relatively better value than in Reykjavik. The breakfast is abundant. The (only) elevator can be crowded at peak hours. Can park nearby. Friendly and useful reception.

We stayed here for three nights as part of a Gate1 tour of Iceland. Very friendly and helpful workers at the front desk and throughout the hotel. Excellent dinner and breakfast in the dining room. Smallish dim lit room, bathroom, closets, and amenities in the room. The one big plus is the location of the hotel. As with other hotels...

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights as part of a Flybus tour of Northern Iceland. Like many other Icelandic hotels the standard is not as good as in other parts of Europe so do not expect this hotel to come with all the trimmings you might expect from a similar star rating elsewhere. Originally owned by the local...
