Booked and paid for a quiet room. When we arrived, we were given a nice large room overlooking a traffic intersection! You could hear the noise through the double glazing and as it was so hot and there was no air conditioning, the Windows needed to be open. We were then moved to a tiny room overlooking a car park...

The location is next to the city pool; very nice if you have kids. There is only one elevator. The restaurant Aurora is very good. There are happy hour specials every afternoon in the lobby bar. That being said, the Hotel is very overpriced (most expensive one I booked for my 21 day vacation in Iceland) and breakfast is extra...

Most comfortable bed I found in country. Bar in lobby, that actually stays open. Only complaint is the traditional, shower room with a toilet, but again nicer than most. One staff on morning shift, was a bit "crabby", otherwise rest were very friendly and nice. No fridge in room, recurring theme for the country.

We can recommend the hotel to anyone that wants to stay in town. Easy walking distance to old town and restaurants and shops. We had an issue with the fact a special event was taking place at the community center/hot swimming pool across the street from our room until 2:00 in the morning one of the nights we stayed there....

Dear traveler, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel and thank you for your positive comments. Just for your information: the longer opening hours of the swimming pool were due to the Summer solstice festival in Akureyri which is only once a year – if that is of any comfort:) Again let us tell you how glad...

Had a great one night stay here, our 3rd hotel on our trip around Iceland. We had a deluxe room and it was 1st class. Very modern, lovely toiletries, espresso machine, and kettle / tea coffee (in the wardrobe !) The Aurora restaurant was very good, had a lovely meal. Breakfast was plentiful with a good choice of hot and...

Situated in the busy town of Akureyri in northern Iceland, it is a larger hotel with a large carpark. The reception, which doubles up as the bar, on the right as you enter, had very helpful and friendly staff and gets very lively on Friday and Saturday nights. The rooms were (too) warm and adequately appointed with spare electrical sockets...

Average hotel below the standards of other Icelandair hotels. The rooms facing the car park (half of the rooms) are extremely noisy due to 1) screaming children on the camping located next to the hotel, 2) people pushing their car engine on the road or car park nearby. It is by no way possible to have the windows open at...

As expected from a hotel that is part of the Hilton family of properties, this is a well organized, clean and accommodating hotel. Rooms are spartan in design but have all the amenities one expects. Lots of pillows, comfy bed and coffee maker. Dinner was tasty but service a little slow between courses, The breakfast buffet is plentiful- even a...

Nice modern hotel located just outside of the city center. Check-in was quick, staff very friendly and English speaking, free parking on the hotel grounds. Light, clean and airy scandinavian style rooms. Beds are comfy and have duvet covers with an extra icelandic woolen throw just in case..... The curtains weren't darkening the room too well which can be a...

I enjoyed all three of the Icelandair hotels we visited during our 2-week road trip around Iceland. This one seemed particularly well-designed, with a spacious bathroom and a well-conceived system for hanging clothes. I appreciated the interesting art, the informational features on Icelandic history, and the L'occitane bath products that all the Icelandair hotels offer. The breakfast buffet was better...
