While the location, breakfast, room size and cleanliness were excellent, I personally found the staff at the front desk and at breakfast helpful, friendly and very pleasant. They were very service oriented. They also offered an ample breakfast box due to my very early departure.

The room itself had a nicely painted accent wall featuring landmarks of Helsinki, a kettle, fridge, tea, coffee, little chocolates, beautiful tea cups, an ironing board, bathrobes & more than sufficient space to store everything.

It’s also close to two good restaurants- Levant and Nom Vietnamese.

This hotel is definitely worthy of at least a 2 night stay!

Located on Boulevard, hotel is only 10 minute walk from main city shopping area, Esplanade and City Centre sights and around 15 minute walk to seafront so great location. Lots of good restaurants, cafes and Bars in walking distance all around hotel. 10 minutes in a taxi to ferry port. The hotel entrance is actually quite small and not that well signed so easy to miss..see photos. Modern style Scandinavian decor throughout hotel which was nice enough and functional rather than luxurious. Late check out is only 2.00pm so had to swap rooms and pay extra which was handled super helpfully by young guy on reception. If you need a taxi at rush hour times, advisable to book a taxi in advance at reception as they can be hard to find. To note taxis are expensive in Helsinki (€50-60 to and from hotel to airport). As mentioned most top sights are easy to walk to from hotel and the trams are frequent and cheap ...use app to buy tickets as you cannot buy tickets on the trams. Breakfast buffet was really good with a super selection of Finnish and international breakfast goodies. So overall a nice hotel for a Helsinki vacation stay.

Dear VinnieLondon_SE2, Big thank you for having the time to write your review! ! It is really lovely to hear about your stay with us and especially when it seemed to be a successful one! What we hear a lot is the excellent location - and it is true. Bulevardi is such a lovely street because of the beautiful architechture but also because of all great boutiques and restaurants too. but also the distance to everything! Not in the noisy city center but just a stones throw away from it. Thank you again for having time to write about your experiences. All the best and take care! Kind regards, Marie/Guest relations

Nice modern hotel with spacious room and a wonderful fluffy duvet. Sockets by both bedsides and clock radio with iPhone charger. No USB by bed. Nice puff for suitcase and Nespresso coffee machine and little selection of coffees

The bathroom was a good size with night light under fixtures and mirror light. Powerful hairdryer. Good water pressure and two types of shower. Black out curtains and fairly quiet rooms. Stayed in room 321 and only one neighbour, I think.

I liked the scan I breakfast buffet and my friend enjoyed the sauna. Also the hotel was walking distance to many places. The staff was helpful and knowledgable.
Will come back here next time in Helsinki

This time we booked an Indigo Infusion package that includes a three-course dinner and breakfast. The price was very affordable.

The package rate for the suite was 172 euros. Buying separately the dinner and breakfast, only the meals would have cost 148 euros. As an IHG Platinum member, we got additionally two drink vouchers. So the room itself was practically almost free.

There is only one Junior Suite in the hotel. The largest room (37,5 m2) is located on the top floor of the building. The windows offer a great view of the rooftops on the beautiful Bulevardi street.

Although the suite is located right next to the lifts, we didn't hear any noises. The bathroom includes a rain shower and a separate spacious bathtub.

Both the dinner and the breakfast were excellent.

The service was very friendly everywhere.

Hotel Indigo (Helsinki Boulevard) has a very central location near everything in Punavuori, Helsinki Center. There are good restaurants, cafeterias and shopping possibilities near the hotel. It is a short walking distance to all main sights. Rooms have street view (Bulevardi) or courtyard view. Rooms with courtyard view are more silent. I had street view but traffic noise didn't disturb me too much and my sleep quality was very good.

I recommend that you book a Premium room as I did. It isn't much more expensive than a standard room but it is much better. I had plenty of room, a self-adjustable heating system, a minibar, a safety deposit box, a big flat screen television, an iron, an ironing board and a Nespresso coffee maker in my room. Besides, there was an interesting mural on the inner wall. Also my bathroom with a rain shower was quite big. There was a beautiful, non-transparent glass painting in the wall between the bathroom and the bedroom.

The hotel has a good gym or a fitness room with a separate mind & soul studio for relaxing and yoga sessions. They also have free traditional Finnish saunas and steam rooms which are separate for women and men. Saunas are open every evening and on weekends also in the morning. Free fast WiFi is available in the whole hotel. Besides, you may use a computer in the lobby and even photocopying is free of charge up to ten copies. Ice cubes are available through the room service or from the restaurant of the hotel. Baby cots are available through the housekeeping. Laundry services with extra charge are available on weekdays. Laundry that is delivered in a laundry bag at reception before 9 AM will be returned on the same day before 6 PM.

The breakfast is very good. Both locally baked breads by the famous Ekberg Bakery, rice pastries (a Finnish specialty), cereals, fruits, yogurt (also vegan yogurt), chia pudding, porridge, cheese, cold cuts, bacon, sausages, scrambled eggs, vegetables, Finnish pies (blueberry or apple), cinnamon rolls, cookies and pancakes are available in the buffet. You also may order fried egg, poached egg or omelette from the waiter and it is included in the breakfast. If you pay an extra charge you may order Skagen bread (8 euros), waffle with jam (3 euros) or French toast (5 euros), too. For drinks you can choose freshly squeezed orange juice, apple juice, cranberry juice, extremely healthy buckthorn shot, tea, hot chocolate, coffee, espresso and cappucino. By the way, I have to mention one more specialty. The rye bread sourdough is over a hundred years old!

This smaller but very nice hotel is in heart of downtown Helsinki with a Tram stop almost on door step.
The rooms are spartan and simple but quite comfortable and functional. The Bathroom is modern with high pressure Rain shower. I was really impressed by the hygienic Toilet faucet/shower which is very uncommon in European hotels. Great.
The breakfast is very good with wide variety of cold and cooked items. Very fresh and tasty.
The front desk staffs are also very helpful and nice.

This design hotel is centrally located on the beautiful Bulevardi street.

On arrival at noon, we were greeted by a friendly receptionist. Our room was already ready.

We had booked a standard room with 19000 IHG points but were upgraded to a top-floor superior room because of my IHG Platinum Elite membership.

Point stays never include breakfasts but we were offered two breakfasts for 26 euros. The usual price is 29 euros per person.

Our room was bright and spacious with great views of Bulevardi street. Opposite the hotel are beautiful old buildings.

When coming back from our museum tour, there was a surprise fruit plate and a welcome card waiting for us on the table. Before I had already got my platinum drink voucher.

The breakfast had a wide selection of food. On Sunday morning, it was pleasantly calm until 10:00 but after that, there came several non-hotel guests utilizing the breakfast offer '2 for the price of 1'. Luckily we were already finishing our breakfast at that point.

The staff was very friendly.

My husband and I had a great stay at Hotel Indigo. Efficient check-in and a warm welcome from the start. One of the best hotel breakfasts we’ve ever had! All foods/drinks clearly labelled, lots of choice for vegetarians and the food we had was delicious. Some favourites were the porridge, pastries and mini apple pie pieces! The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with vibrant decor. Great size bathroom with fluffy towels and additional facilities such as the safe, minibar, guest slippers were appreciated. The only thing we felt the room was possibly missing was some sort of radiator or heated towel rail. We were lucky to avoid most of the rain during our stay, but if we’d have got really wet, we might have struggled to dry clothes/coats in the room. It was our anniversary, for which the hotel left us towels shaped like swans and chocolates on the bed - a lovely gesture that made our stay even better! Great location, metres away from tram stops and fairly central with Helsinki. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. We were able to leave our suitcases on the last day, and collect them later on prior to our flight. Will definitely stay at Hotel Indigo again and recommend to others!

This is a chain hotel that is run professionally yet with friendly staff.

We had to leave very early in the morning almost at the time the breakfast is supposed to begin service. Yet staff went out of the way to get some cutlery, some pastries and coffee and tea.

The room was clean. The bathroom was a special draw: it was bright with a frosted window taking a third of the shorter wall. It just gave a warm sense of welcome.

The slight drawback might be location away from the buzzing town centre. It's an easy 12-minute walk, as opposed to an easy 5 minutes.

Centrally located, we took a 30 minutes airport train (€4.10 zone C) to Central Station in Helsinki which is the last stop. Thereafter, took tram 3 (3 tram stops) to alight at Fredrikinkatu tram stop. From here, it's a 150m walk to the hotel. You could access hsl website to check timing and platform.

The hotel is located within walking distance to Esplanadi, South Harbour to Suomenlinna. Kamppi Bus Station to Porvoo.

The queen room we stayed in is of the right size with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom/toilet are excellent too.

The staff was quick to respond to our request to fix the room safe and for a kettle.

The only gripe we had was the hotel's signage was not lighted in daytime and we nearly missed it when we arrived the first day.
