Holiday Inn in Helsinki is conveniently located right next to the train station and near shopping malls. We were welcomed by Kati who facilitated our smooth check-in. The room is spacious and the beddings are comfortable.
Excellent location and bright rooms. Full electrical outlets and USB ports. Bright and rooms designed for the guest. A desk, table and chairs. Very traveler friendly. A great surprise and most recommended.
Simple and free. Simple because everything just flowed here, so much freedom. Even the colors and the designs give you the feeling of freedom. I think it’s the whole simplicity that makes us feel burden-less and we slept soundly every night. The staff were helpful, the breakfast speed was a joy to look forward to every morning, and there’s a sauna for guests to enjoy from 1700 to 2200. The sauna is kept spick and span, another golden star. And it’s location, adjacent to the railway station, is a great plus point. We took the tram to many places and because of its central location, you can walk to practically all the tourist sites. Oh yes, Oodi Public Library is located across the street. This, you must pay a visit. A great great way to stay in the bustling city.
The location was perfect, the view from the room also, specially from the rooms on the eight floor.Room size rather smaller than you expect in relation to the money you spent..Breakfast was good enough but the problem was the cleanliness of the room ,specially the bathroom: Hair in the bathtub the moment we entered. They said there were signs from the use but after the housekeeping came they dissapeared,,,,No bathroom amenities ,just a liquid soap. Finally we were rather dissapointed.
It's really "City Centre". Smack in the middle of Helsinki with the railway station as neighbour (and the track for the airport train just around the corner). "Modern" but a little tired interior, generous public areas, a bar and a breakfast restaurant with a good selection. Rooms fine. Beds comfy and we had a good nights sleep. BUT: there must be some sort of trouble with the plumbing, since there was a rather annoying smell of sewer in the bathroom. Indicates a problem the hotel will have to deal with... Friendly and helpful staff at the reception. Nice experience in the bar with a very relaxed, yet attentive and kind lady managing the guests. Affordable stay in any case (Finland is a rather expensive country). Recommended for tourists (you're near all worth seeing in Helsinki) and stop-over travelers for a night or two. Would have given four TA-points if it weren't for the bathroom smell...…
I stayed 3 nights at this good City Centre hotel. For getting around its location is perfect; right next door to the railway station and the tram network. Checkin was friendly and efficient and a booking mixup was resolved quickly. I had a good room overlooking the front of the hotel which was absolutely fine: good size, serviced well and clean. Breakfasts were good: lots of choice although hot items were a bit cold. Perfect hotel for a few nights stay in this great city
Right next to the station. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and great breakfasts. Excellent view from our room....Relaxed atmosphere and close to major galleries, cathedrals and museums. Would recommend for any city breaks.
A lot of people avoid chain hotels, but our stay here was just what we wanted. The location is excellent, our room was spacious and light-filled, the wifi was strong, the breakfast buffet was large and tasty and the staff helpful and friendly. All for a very reasonable price. Would happily stay here again.
We stayed 3 nights here and opted not to have the breakfast as our experience in a previous Holiday Inn during this trip was not good, so cannot comment on the food. The hotel is in a perfect location. Right beside the train station, trams and buses. Easy walk to all the highlights of Helsinki. The hotel has 8 floors with two lifts. There was good service with those lifts. Staff were friendly and efficient. The rooms are small with ridiculous hard floors. I feel sorry for anyone below as the slightest sound would echo down. The hotel is looking tired. Severe stains on the hall carpets and decor is dated. There is no AC at all, just a small fan in the cupboard. We needed it on all night!. There is a so calked fridge in your room with a minibar. However the fridge does not actually work, it is just a cabinet in the end. Finally, this is apparently a 4 star hotel. Well I can assure you, based on many, many hotels we have stayed at, 3 stars would be the most you could possibly give. We notice management have sanitized replies to reviews. Maybe they need to be more proactive and take note of genuine comments.…
I had a 21-day and 5-country trip to Scandinavia on July 2022, and Holiday Inn hotel Helsinki was the best stay. It is an excelent hotel and clean hotel The crew was just perfect, providing everything I asked for, from luggage space to sewing kit, soap/shampoo/towels, and late check out (I am a Holiday inn Loyalty member). Quiet rooms. Quiet location and close to Central Helsinki train station. Good restaurant, a little crowed, the hotel was packed and the restaurant area is small (only complain). Food was good. Price was fair. Excellen stay.
