stayed here during the july sacking of Helsinki in 2011, it was hotter than Hel then, and the better ventilation (or some a/c) would have been highly appreciated. I know it's not too common in hostels, and espec. Not the nordic countries. The building we stayed in is apparently used as student dorms during the school year, and as a...

I stayed here with friends for 3 nights last summer. We stayed in the next building, behind the main one. There was a little kitchen in the room and a bathroom. The lounge area had a bookshelf and couches so you could sit and relax, a kitchen ( for those with none in the room). And computers. The people were...

My wife and I, stayed there for one night. It was clean and the price was reasonable. Although the bed wasn't very comfortable but the rest was alright. There is a supermarket Valiantatlo in front of hotel open till 10:30 PM on weekdays. It is easily accessible by Tram to the main station and airport buses. There is also a...

When I came to is place my expectations were rather low. I had left another hotel which did not clean and where I felt uncomfortable and now in a youth hostel - why that? Guys, I should have come straight away to this place, it is great. If you book a priate room you have a room with bath and...

I loved staying in this hostel. It was very clean, the staff were very helpful and it was close to everything. Every room has a little kitchenette with cooker, oven and fridge and a table so you can prepare and store your own food. Utensils a-plenty in the common room downstairs. Beds are comfortable, curtains block the eternal day outside...

Hostel Academica is open only during June-August, as in other times rooms are student apartments. Location is very good, only 10 minutes walking to central railway station and many sights / restaurants / shops are also within walking distance. There are at least two different buildings in Hostel Academica. The one I stayed in had en suite rooms with kitchenettes....

Although not right in the center, it is a good location as most sights were within (5 to 20 minutes) walking distance eg Railway Stn, Market Square, cinemas at Kamppi pl, museums etc .There's a bus stop in front of hostel. Did not have the breakfast as mini market was just right across the road for our meals. Room and...

Only open in the summer, the Hostel Academica is a bargain for travelers weary of searching for a hotel deal in Helsinki. Our room was clean and with its own bath. The staff was very welcoming. It is only a couple blocks from a tram stop and a 10-minute to the wharf. Don't expect the Hilton and you won't be...

Excellent value for money. Good location, 10-15 minutes walk from the city center. Simple, basic room, but very clean. Very friendly staff. There's a free-access computers room near the reception, and there is also a wifi connection you can use with your portable computer or mobile device. The breakfast (6,5 euro, not included in the room price) is basic, too,...
