Near the city center, buss, tram are easy to use. Room was very well planned, space enough. Shower room nice. Quiet.
Breakfast was tasty and the variety of food large. Service good and it was easy to find clean and free table.

Perfect location close to the city center and railway station! I like the decoration and the styling of this hotel. Nice pub. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Some of the rooms are small, but they are still ok and really quiet.
Good also for meetings.More

I occupied room 219, which was clean, and in a good state of repair. The one small issue I had was that the bathroom door, if left half opened, would move to a fully opened position very quickly, and hit the room door.
My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel for just one night. Please don't be enticed by the Radisson brand or by the attractive pictures on websites that make this hotel look appealing. This hotel is shabby, old and needs more than a facelift and...More

Yes, there is a convenient "Finnair" shuttle that has a stop right outside the airport entrance. The price to the downtown railway station in the centre of town in approximately €7 per person. There is also a local bus which makes many stops along the way, but it also reaches downtown from a stop located right in front of the airport. It is less expensive than the Finnair shuttle, but how much less I am not sure. Hope this helps!

I agree with the others, a taxi or two is the best solution. There are taxi ranks outside terminals 1 and 2, with a constant stream of taxis and passengers. The easiest method is just to join the queue and take two taxis if a people carrier is not at the taxi rank.
Alternatively, you can book a mini bus taxi to meet you at the airport and they will carry a board with your name on it as you come through arrivals.
Google Helsinki airport taxi "people carrier" OR "mini bus"
and you will find a choice of companies that you can book with. Mini bus taxis are licensed for up to 8 passengers, so you could all travel together.
A standard taxi will cost between €40 & €50, which, split three ways is fairly cheap. The journey is between 25 and 30 minutes for the 17 Km.
The Radisson Blu Royal is opposite a large shopping precinct called Kampii, and there is a grocery shop adjacent to the hotel which is open until 22:00 every day, so there is no need to shop at the airport, which is more expensive.
When you travel back to the airport, the hotel reception can book a mini bus taxi for you, or two standard taxis.
Enjoy your trip and post some reviews to help others.

Don't know if they offer bikes but Helsinki does offer a lot of biking routes (and lanes). Check our ulkoilukartta (dot) fi Unfortunately it is in Finnish but gives you a good map. Select "Pyöräilykartta" from left and you get all the biking lanes and routes. I warmly suggest also the seaside route during the summer.
