With an early check-in request granted, super comfortable beds, an outstanding breakfast, and wonderfully helpful staff - Hotel U14 is somewhere I would definitely return to (and recommend). The location makes it easy to walk everywhere (Uber is also available).
Nothing but positive things to say about my one-night stay at this hotel. Building looks unassuming from the outside, but inside this is a wonderful place. Rooms are well designed and well equipped. Comfortable beds and luxurious bathrooms. Staff were friendly and helpful, and all Marriott Bonvoy elite benefits were granted. I can certainly recommend the breakfast at this hotel, which offers a nice mix of the usual fare with some typical local dishes. Only gripe about the restaurant is that it is closed on Sundays after breakfast, which is quite unusual for a hotel restaurant. Would not hesitate about staying here again.
I was here with my husband on a short staycation. We like coming here, because the location is marvelous, the rooms are cozy and clean and the breakfast is great. Not to mention the superior service. The hotel has a small gym, but also the surroundings are great for walking/jogging by the shore & Kaivopuisto and Tähtitorninmäki. The beds are comfy and the rooms are quiet – you get a good sleep. This hotel doesn’t leave disappointed friends of good food and drinks. The drink bar serves good cocktails and mocktails and the food is delicious. This is also a popular place for Sunday brunch. Good walking distance to city center sights. Also theaters and other culture events nearby. Warmest recommendations to this place!
Really great value for money and fantastic location. Close to the waterfront and the Esplanade. Warm, quiet, and really clean. Super comfy bed. Couldn’t have wanted any more. We stayed 3 nights over two stop overs in Helsinki.
This is a first rate hotel. The staff is very attentive whether at the front desk or at the bar. I was actually part of a group tour, we had been in northern Finland a few days and were here, in Helsinki, for three days. Breakfast and all other meals eaten in the restaurant were very good, the rooms are spacious, beds comfortable, Wi-Fi spot on. So what's not to like? The location is also very good being 'down town' and a quick walk to the harbor area. Most attractions are walking distance from here so it is a very good place from which to explore Helsinki. As the Ateneum Art Museum was closed for ventilation renovation and there is something I wish to see there, I hope to be back in the future.
We echo everything previous reviewers have said. Our Bonvoy status was acknowledged and we stayed in a supremely clean, quiet and comfortable room. Loved the included breakfast with some local specialties and excellent coffee. The pretend very realistic flames of the ‘fireplace’ added such atmosphere to the space. Location is close to the charming old market hall which is a must see - especially for the interesting offerings including elk jerky, smoked reindeer and bear salami (we do not eat meat but others might be tempted?!) Also close to harbour and port and most attractions. We subsequently took the 2.5 hour ferry to Tallinn from the port just 5 minutes away by taxi (too much luggage to contemplate walking there - but is doable if you’re travelling light). We stayed 4 nights allowing us a free day to take a 1 hour bus trip to the nearby quaint town of Porvoo for lunch which we highly recommend. We were blessed with warm sunny days (end August) and appreciated the air conditioning in the room. All the staff we encountered at this wonderful were so friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!…
The decor is fab, the service was on point, and the room was wonderful. We enjoyed this hotel and location. We had breakfast at the restaurant and cocktails in the hotel bar. Walkable to many venues, and easy access to the tram and ports. There is a good sized grocery store just around the corner.
U14 is a magnificent hotel. Everything from the way we were greeted at reception to the stunning stylish decor, the jaw-dropping rooms filed with original visual art and bountiful breakfasts filled with Finnish treats like Karelian pies, smoked salmon and divine coffee. The attention to detail is remarkable from the sleek unique design to the courteous and helpful staff. Can’t say enough great things about this place. It is the best. I’ll be back!
Excellent hotel in the center of the city - perfect location for seeing the city. The hotel located within walking distance to most of the main sites and shopping with tram stops all around the hotel. The hotel was exceptionally clean and the beds were very comfortable. The front desk staff were very helpful and spoke many languages. The breakfast at the hotel was also exceptional with a large variety of food - we ate a big breakfast and it lasted us through the day until dinner. I highly recommend this hotel. Oh and the clock artwork in the lobby is worth seeing, even if you’re not staying at the hotel.
Excellent choice and would 10/10 come back. Rooms are spacious, very modern, and have a huge and comfortable bed. There is a gym and a sauna in the basement which is well equipped. The Hotel’s restaurant is also very, very good and I recommend it for both breakfast and dinner. I look forward to my next stay
