The hotel is a little way from the river or the main area of Rovaniemi, fortunately it is only a small town so this really doesn't matter. The room was nice and warm and we had help carrying our suitcases up the stairs. Breakfast was definitely finnish, which we loved but it might not be for everyone. We wanted to... More

We stayed at the Aakenus in early August for 3 nights. The rooms were adequate size with comfortable beds and were spotless. As typical of Finnish hotels, the rooms were warm. The staff were very helpful, the breakfast delightful with lots of vegetarian and vegan options. The location was quiet but convenient to city center, walking paths and the river.... More

If youre travelling through northern Finland and want place just to stay overnight, this is the place. Normal price, clean rooms but nothing special. Breakfast was on the positive side and downstairs bar with big tv screen is also nice. Easy free parking. But place need updating, some undefined smell in rooms allowing pets are concerning. With some good luck... More

This is not a new, flashy og luxurious hotel. However, it is clean, safe and provides an excellent value. You are in short walking distance from the city center and you get a nice wholesome breakfast. I would not hesitate returning here.

The hotel can be reached on foot from the train station but make sure you know where you’re going. Google Maps sent us an hour out of our way in -10 degree cold. Once we found the place it was warm, inviting and the staff were very helpful. However, we did decide to pay the Euro12 for a taxi to... More

We actually stayed at the adjoining Economy Apartments Peura and not in the hotel itself, so this review will pertain only to the apartments, which are self-catering and don't include breakfast or other services. The apartment (we stayed in number 2) was warm, cosy, and very private - perfect for two people. Boasting a comfortable bed, a well equipped kitchen,... More

A clean hotel that is close to the city center. Friendly and helpful staff. They have a free sauna. There is also a small restaurant with a free breakfast and a dinner buffet that is worth the price. The hotel is close by to the city center. A 5 - 10 minute walk. The bus station is also within walking... More

Stayed for 1 night only. The room and the breakfast was pretty nice, warm and comfy overall, just have a few comments on the reception..if the receptionist can be more welcoming? I don't feel like being welcomed every time I approached the counter..but the hotel is good if you don't care about service ;-)

With good location in the center of Rovaniem, free parking and free wifi, we could not find any similar hotels in the area. Hotel is very simple but clean and quiet. Do not expect nothing fancy. Aakenus is perfect for short stay in Rovaniemi.

This hotel has a good location which is close to the busiest street in Rovaniemi, to the bus station to Santa Claus Village or Ranua wildlife park and 15 minutes walking distance to train station. They serve wonderful delicious breakfast with various options. There is free wi-fi and sauna provided as well. All of these are included in room rate... More
