The rooms were stately and comfortable with good quality beds, which ensured a wonderful night's sleep. The food in the hotel was a real treat; neat and tidy with an impressive variety, making every meal a pleasure.
The hotel also provides use of a Finnish sauna and an indoor swimming pool with panoramic views, which we would describe as an extra nice experience. The facilities are well maintained and provided perfect relaxation after a day of activities.
The hotel's location is unbeatable, ideal for exploring nearby attractions such as the Pyhakero snowshoe trek to the Jyppyra lookout. Or for activities such as the snowmobile safari across frozen lakes and open plains, the husky safari through a fairytale environment with a visit to the husky farm, the nighttime search for the Northern Lights on a snowmobile and a visit to a local reindeer farm where the animals could also be fed. One by one adventures we will never forget.
In addition, within walking distance of the hotel, we also interacted with local craftsmen in their work studios (artworks on antlers) and in their Finnish 'kota' (hut), as used by the indigenous Sami people. There we sat around a central fire and were allowed to taste traditional Finnish drinks and dishes, prepared by the super friendly 'Emäntä' (hostess). This way we gained a unique insight into Finnish culture.
A special mention also to the guides, Fred and Peter, whose expertise, friendliness and fascinating stories made the activities extra special. Their knowledge and passion for the environment were infectious and enriching.
All in all, Hotel Hetta is an excellent choice for anyone wanting to experience the north of Finland. With its excellent facilities, friendly staff and an unbeatable location that provides easy access to a range of outdoor activities, this hotel is highly recommended. It was an unforgettable stay that exceeded our expectations, and we would without a doubt recommend it to others looking for an adventure in the beauty of Finnish nature.

The hotel is traditional, in a lovely setting next to a big lake. The beds are comfy and the room has everything you need for your stay. The meals are basic, but you can buy off a menu if you would like. The rooms are cleaned daily, and again nothing is to much trouble. You have Tui reps and elves at the hotel at all times, which is lovely as they are so helpful. We would like to say that the team are amazing- jungle Bobs, dasher Dan, Oli, Gina and Kate. These guys give 110% and genuinely enjoy making people happy. The kids loved them and so did the adults. The hotel is not far from the shop and you can walk this in 10 minutes. We went on two trips, the snowmobile and reindeer trip. When booking we had a little confusion, but Oli, did her best to make it right. The trips are great, the reindeer trip was a lovely experience. Both the reindeer staff and snowmobile staff are so nice and caring. Again, it’s really important to them that you have a great experience and we certainly did. Finally Father Christmas, what a lovely gentleman he is, it was a pleasure to talk you and we appreciated your time as he did not rush you.
The evening entertainment is good fun. Dan, Gina and Kate, you sing so well together, you moved me a few time with your voices.
The only negative I have is that you can only book for 3 or 4 nights, we would have loved to have stayed longer.
Thank you to all the hotel staff for their amazing service, thank you to all the elves for making the making it a lovely experience, but Tui certainly knew what they was doing when they put the team together! We have met lots of Tui reps in my time traveling, but these guys knocked spots off them all.
Thankyou for making this Christmas experience special, we will never forget it.

Regarding style, the decor is certainly vintage but not worn out, giving it a real Wes Anderson vibe of pine and carpet.
My room had a view over the lake and was nice and spacious. The only fault with my room (101) was a very loud buzzing strip light over the window but I didn’t use it so it didn’t spoil the stay.
The sauna and pool are a great addition, with the sauna operating from 4pm (I seem to remember) and the pool chilly but invigorating.
The restaurant buffet was decent at €35 with plenty of options.
After the meal, it was great to take a wander back down into the nearby town to burn off the calories.

Park 5 mins walk away! Take the sledges to sleigh down the hill and we also walked up there to see the northern lights which came out for us Christmas Day. We went with tui and they were good. The kids club was great, the taster session brilliant. I booked snowmobiles before I went for Xmas eve. When I got there they changed it to Xmas day. With a bit of swapping around we got to do it Xmas eve. Great experience but things book up before you get there so book early you can always cancel 24 hours before! The taster sessionsis 2.5 hours so that might be enough for you. Happy to answer any questions.

Hotels Hetta, what a special place to go for a Lapland experience. Booked through Tui on a 5 day Santa experience and it surpassed every expectation. From the staff at the airport to the team in the hotel.
I chose this destination because I didn't want an over commercial trip and this was the experience I'd hoped for when booking it.
The staff in the hotel were so accommodating as my mum has an allergy and they brought her a dessert that didn't contain nuts or Pineapple. And each meal time they said what she could and couldn't have that meal. This attention to detail was really appreciated.
The snow club was great with Gina, Katie and Dan made the kids really engage in the experience.
Berry, Sparkles, Cookie and Ollie were brilliant on the arrival where to go and getting people informed on what was going on. Also, Bob was great for being in the hotel for any questions you had.
Not forgetting the staff in the hotel, that engaged with us and was friendly all the time.
The Christmas finale. Well what can I say, it was so magical from the lovely dinner and then meeting Santa. My son was speechless and was so excited. Then the fireworks at the end was awesome.
The entertainment throughout was great both during the day and at night.
I really don't have one complaint about the whole trip and the bonus was that if the Northern Lights were out you could write your room number on a board and they'd come and give a knock. Because of this we got to see them that was the icing, cherry and sprinkles on the cake.
Thank you all..!!

We stayed for 4 nights at Hetta hotel in bungalow A. The bungalows are located opposite main hotel building. They are spacious, lovely and warm. Nice hot shower, everything needed to self cater if you wish - kettle, toaster, oven, hob, fridge freezer and microwave.
Food at the hotel is outstanding, there's always something for the children (e.g. chicken nuggets and chips) and a special diet section too. Water available at meal times or drinks payable at the bar (to give an idea most beers and spirits are around €8 per glass).
The staff are fantastic and make the stay extra special. Oli, jinglebobs, dasher dan, gingerbread Gina, Christmas cookie katie - you're all amazing, so hard working, and made our stay so special - thankyou!!
Taster sessions are perfect 👌 such a magical day!
We did the snowmobile excursion over the lake which was awesome!
The village is a 15 min walk there's a supermarket and a few souvenir shops.
The sledging slopes are 5 min walk in opposite direction and there's a lovely visitors centre with cafe there to warm up in.
We were lucky enough to see the Northern lights twice too, such a fantastic experience we'll never forget!
Tips;
Take hand and feet warmers on taster day and excursions
Take a teatowel
No WiFi in bungalow
Check board in main hotel for timings daily
Register for Northern light sightings by adding your room number to the board (staff will knock on your room to let you know the lights are out up until midnight)
Thankyou to everyone at Hetta hotel for giving us family memories which will last forever, wishing you all a very merry Christmas! Xxx

The hotel is a bit dated, but that just adds to the atmosphere. The staff are so friendly and chilled out, which then passes onto the guests, everybody just talking to each other and getting on just a wonderful atmosphere.there is a ski slope just up the road (turn into the national park and follow the road around to the left 200 yards down the road and you are there.the food at the hotel is to a good standard i enjoyed all the food,a little bit gutted there was no international meat( reindeer😂) there is a microwave, kettle, fridge, oven, cutlery, dishwasher and drying room etc in the bungalows.
€9for a Pint €5for a pepsi
The hotel is nice and warm, and if you come back back from sledging a little cold, the lady behind the counter will put the fire on for you ❤️
Amazing place with amzing, staff, scenery location etc

We wanted to see the northern lights and experience the husky rides, both of which never disappointed. The location is remote, but beautiful. Nearly everywhere you walk is like a Christmas card scene. As we weren't interested in the hotel activities, all of which catered to the families, which is understandable. We ventured off on our own. There was a great walking trail nearby to the hotel. Even though the information centre was closed, we easily found our way to the top of Jyppyra, which had stunning views. There was a little hut to sit and rest after the trek up to the top. Plenty of chopped firewood in a nearby cabin so can build your own fire to warm up as relax before sledging back down.
Because we'd explained to the reps of our reasons for choosing this resort, they would let us know as and when the northern lights were expected so we would stand the best chance of seeing them. Thanks to the reps we finally got to see them on our final night.
The hotel is comfortable, if a little dated, but we knew this when booking. One negative was there was no kettle in the rooms like advertised, these are only apparently available in the bungalows and not the main hotel rooms, so were forced to buy tea and coffee each morning when first getting up rather than make them ourselves from the comfort of our room.
We were dreading the gala dinner as all seats were pre chosen and we were on a table with the only other childless couple. When it came to each family to be taken down to see Santa, I asked the reps if they could get a photo for my friend's son,l. However, when we went down, the reps arranged for a video call to him from Santa and even arranged a present for us to bring home for him. This was such a nice thing for them to do and it was really appreciated.
While the location is beautiful, we wouldn't visit this resort again, but try one of the others where there may be a little more to do. This isn't a criticism as the reps work very hard to ensure everyone enjoys their holiday and has the best experience they can.

The rooms were clean and comfortable and we'll equipped. We faced the front and did not hear any traffic noise from the road (probably as isn't any traffic!). The furthest room probably only takes a minute to get to the lobby.
If you are traveling with Tui, we couldn't fault them, they had great reps and entertainment team and a great schedule which gave us good structure to our days.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
