During Opera season hotels are fully booked and overpriced but this student residence provides clean and nice stay. Everything was clean and bed was very good. In the kitchen there's fridge to help to kerp your drinks and berries cold and fresh.

The hotel does not offer breakfast and is circa 2 km walking distance from city Center. The price is really low and you get a whole apartment which isn't bad. Great for cheap nights with OK comfort. The apartments are clean. A local bakery offers nice, local breakfast with porridge.

Accommodation in Savonlinna books out months ahead and this was all that was available for us. It's basic and has no breakfast or other food but it's clean and the beds are quite comfortable. We would stay here again.

We stayed at the Summer Hotel Malakias for 3 nights during July, when the opera festival was on. Unfortunately this meant that all the other hotels closer to town were booked out so we ended up staying at Malakias out of desperation. It is not a hotel at all but uni dorms that are rented out during the summer holidays....

Unfortunatelly, i didn`t have a chance to enjoy my favourite Verdi`s "Aida", but my aim was Apocalyptica`s concert. so, if you wanna know - the concert was marvelous and magnificent as usual Apo`s concerts :) but this time i have to tell you about the hotel. I`ve stayed...

Hotel info let as think, that we could use a SPA of BestWestern "near by". Soon after arroving we found out, that Yes, anybody can use the SPA, if their're ready to pay, so staying in SummerHotel Malakias gives you no priviledges or even discounts in the SPA. Another Malakias' misleading guidance was claim, that Best Western SPA is near....
