An old and nostalgic hotel with individual rooms which are very cute. The beds are comfortable and the breakfast is absolutely fantastic with everything you need and much more. I strongly recommend this for everybody that enjoy some luxury.

7 friends from Norway vistied Grythyttan for the week-end of September 9-11 and had an outstanding exterience related to stay, food and wine. Marcel made the experience to become outstanding. Both main dishes was excellet, as well a more simple lunch become indeed ecellent. Always important: "Who knows and who is trying to know? Grythyttan has to understand: "Who has...

Hello Radiv, Thank you so much for your fantastic review. It warms our heart to hear that you had such a good stay with us. This weekend it was our head chef Henrik Eriksson working in the kitchen and he sends his regards to you for your kind words. So does Marcel (our sommelier), Ritva (from breakfast) and Claudio (...

We spent a wonderful weeken in Grythyttan. We visited "Måltidens hus" for a guided tour (recommended!) and as the major attraction "Opera på skäret" outside Kopparberg. We stayed in wonderfully decorated and comfortable rooms at Grythyttans Gästgiveri, truly recommended, and on the way home we took a ride on the historical railway between Grythyttan and Nora which was quite an...

If there had been an option to choose "good" for my overall rating, I would have done so. It's a lovely area and a place where you can truly relax and unwind without the distractions of big city life. My room was furnished like something out of a Carl Larsson painting -- very lovely and historic. It was quite small,...

Stayed just one night but it was our fourth visit. Stayed in a Superior room and it had no ac, no TV and no minibar. For the price you pay you want a better standard than a better B&B. The food in the restaurant was good but in small servings. Service is OK but we waited 20 minutes before anyone...

Grythyttan Inn was established in 1641 on the orders of the Swedish monarch. She commanded that there be an inn at every 70km along her kingdom’s roads. Grythyttan Inn was soon considered best of its kind outside the capital city boundaries. The old inn is naturally modernized up to contemporary standards. Every foreigner should at least once stay in a...

Grythyttans gastgiveregard is wonderfully luxurious and decadent, from the cosiness of the beds, to the spread of cake available for afternoon tea. The service was superb, the food was just wonderful (take a good appetite), the environment is beautiful and we had a fabulous stay here. Thank you.

Spent two days with family of 5 and a dog. Our dog was happy to find dog candy and water bowl in the room upon arrival. We had the gourmet 4 course package. High quality dishes and very professional table service!...particularly day one (Hanna was world class!) Wine list most probably one of the most elaborated in this part of...

Lovely old Swedish hotel that's 200 years old. Amazing antiques in gorgeous period style salons. Everything is perfect including the most spectacular Swedish breakfast buffet. There were warm rolls from the oven, large selection of gourmet cheese, the best scrambled eggs I've eaten in a hotel. The room was quaint and comfortable if small by US standards. Dinner was delicious...

“I think all the rooms are probably unique and you have to adapt to the size of rooms in buildings that are older than the United States. But the beauty and details are worth it for this traveler.”

“We stayed in room 42, one of two standard double rooms in one of the small cottages. Cozy and quiet with floral wallpaper. Dogs are allowed in most rooms so if allergic ask for a non-dog room but be aware there may be dogs in all common areas.”
