It's not often that I get to stay at a hotel in my "home town" but for this special occation I got a room at the very cozy Hotell Kungsträdgården. Located very central and near most of everything! You can tell that this is a hotel in the upper echelon of standards, with personal greetings (with name) from the staff and very helpful and service minded staff overall. For a hotel of this class and location, the price was actually endurable. The rooms, albeit a bit small, provides a very pleasant stay with comfortable beds and nice amenities. Since I frequently visit a location just nearby, this will not be my last stay!
The stay was amazing, comparable to some other well named 5 stars in Europe. The staff were super friendly, the hotel was clean, well designed and perfectly decorated. I was a solo traveler and stayed on the 5th floor in a double room for two days. The room was clean, well kept and super cute. I had a wonderful view of ice skating rink and a plaza. The bed was super comfortable, the towels and bathrobe were soft. The heated bathroom floor was a plus! I found the double room to have plenty of room, but if you are staying for more than 3 days and/or like to unpack your garments there were no drawers (chest) to unpack ( its a small thing, but thought I would add it). I did not use the gym, but checked it out. It is smaller, but has all you need. It is clean and has up to-date equipment. The bartender ( did not get his name but it was a Wednesday, Jan 4th) was attentive and made a good drink. I am very particular about how I like my mixed drink and he got it right! I ate dinner at the hotel, the staff, food and atmosphere were top! I am a picky traveler and tend to like to stay in nicer accommodations and I booked this one over higher price hotels because of the look and reviews.. and I it was spot on. Book here, its wonderful, set in a side street and just perfectly warm and comfy. I really loved my stay. Thank you Kundsträdarden. …
The hotel is perfectly located, the queen superior room (235) was absolutely great and well furnished. The breakfast is great with fresh product, quantity and the room is great Special for Kiki, the concierge, who was really kind and helpful with great recommendations and support to book restaurants and other places. We will come back asap with no hesitation in this hotel
Hotel Kungstradgarden is the perfect blend of old world charm and new world amenities. We stayed for a week in mid-December for our son's graduatoin from KTH. The staff are wonderful and everything was absolutely amazing.
This stay really met the expectations. Super friendly and helpful staff and gorgeous premises right in the heart of Stockholm. The room was comfortable, tidy and quiet, had a good night sleep. Staff was willing to make flexible arrangements to fit our needs ( the barkeep could up his game a bit to match the rest of the staff ). Really liked the the breakfast, too. All in all, a very nice hotel, would definitely stay again and recommend to others.
We visited Stockholm is september and we could not have chosen a better hotel. Kungsträdgården is everything we needed for a perfect weekend. I am an hotelier myself so I usually “study” well where to stay, based on location, facilities, reviews, etc. This hotel just had it all! The WONDERFUL Kiki - the very experienced Hotel Concierge - with whom we were in contact weeks before our arrival, made an amazing job guiding us through stockholm’s MUSTS and booking all the delicious restaurants in the city! She knows it all! We were placed in a stunning room with beautiful views to the King’s Garden and with a chimney (cant thank them enough for this - we slept most nights with the electric fireplace on, which automatically switched off after 30 minutes). The breakfast was unbeatable: a delicious mix of pastries, healthy options (green smoothies / chia pudding) and local dishes. On weekends they are very generous and extend breakfast until 11am. It is included if you book DIRECTLY through their webpage (which is also a very nice way of supporting the business as most booking platforms hold a 20% fee to the hotels). Location also PERFECT: just 5’ away from Gamla Stan (the old town) and 1’ away from the lively commercial center (great shopping & restaurants) but still in a quite enough street to not hear any noise from the outside world! Summing up: if you visit Stockholm, Kungsträdgården Hotel is a MUST. Great STAFF, great facilities, great breakfast and great location. We will be back! Thanks KIKI!…
We stayed 5 nights in the end of August - the hotel is beautiful and the location couldnt be better for walking everywhere, and with a T-station nearby. Originally we booked a "small double" room - it is the size of a closet and not comfortable for even one person!! We were moved the next day to a Queen and everthing from then on was perfect :-) The hotel is beautiful, there are plenty of cozy lounge areas to sit inside, the breakfast is lovely, and most of all the staff were very helpful and seemed to know each gues personally. A special shout out to the concierge Kiki who understood our vegetartian requirements and sent us to outstanding restaurants and recommended Voxholm for a rainy day. While we were there a food and music festival was in the King's Garden just near the hotel - so the atmosphere was festive, yet inside the hotel we didn't here any noise at all.…
We had a king size delux room, which was much larger than many hotel rooms in Europe. Great location, easy walking distance to the old town. Very good breakfast, which we enjoyed. Our one concern was the ineffectiveness of the air conditioning in the room, numerous reasons for it were provided to us but the room was hot!!
Very well-located on a relatively quiet secondary street, modern and lovely furnishings, delicious brunch (an impressive array of items on offer). This was a great base for exploring Stockholm and also convenient to the train station (without feeling like you're staying near the train station). We booked one standard room and one slightly bigger room, and the difference was dramatic (the standard room was tiny, with almost no room to walk; in contrast, the other room had a sofa, larger bed, and plenty of space). We did hear some noise from the street and also from the breakfast getting set up below us. But, we'd very much recommend this hotel for a combination of charm and modern amenities.
I've stayed at many small boutique hotels, and most of them get a lot of things right. This was the first time I can say a hotel got EVERYTHING right. The location, the gorgeous lobby bar, the comfortable room, the huge breakfast buffet were all spot-on perfect. There were two things that made it all even better. First and foremost were the staff. Their professionalism and helpfulness were great, but they were warm and friendly as well. The concierge Kiki was just exceptional. We arrived at 7am exhausted from the long flight from L.A. She took care of us like we were family and even managed to get us into our room hours earlier than we expected. It gave us a whole additional day to enjoy Stockholm. Additional, to our surprise this hotel featured a huge extra shared living room next to our room. It had key card access and was almost always empty, so it basically gave us 5 times more space than just our room. It was perfect for when one of us was up early or could not sleep. (See pic) I've written a lot of hotel reviews, and this one comes out on top of them all. If I could give it six stars, I would.…
