Stayed at the Rex Hotel for three nights in April and were very pleased. The staff was very friendly, the room was on the small size but comfortable. Also the breakfast was nice with lots of good things to choose. The location it’s not very central, it’s a bit of a walk to the centre, but you have a metro...

We had originally booked a room at Rex hotel, but got a larger room for the same price (about 100 €/night/room) at hotel Hellsten (same owner, across the street) instead. The location was good, within a walking distance from the city centre and old town. We loved the whole decor of the hotel, it had a really cozy atmosphere (Hotel...

We stayed in a double room for three nights over easter 2006. The hotel really was excellent. The whole building is very stylish, with a lot of nice features and attention to detail. Everything was very clean, the room big and comfortable, and even though it faced the street it was completely quiet as it is a back street. The...

Stayed for just one night, but will definitely go back on my next visit. It's a five minute walk north of the new town, but there is a tube stop 50m away should you require one. Great little touches include heated floor tiles in the bathroom. The outstanding service and exclusive feel, made the place perfect.

Staying in Vasastan

Neighbourhood Profile
Vasastan
Vasastan is one of those neighborhoods that almost looks too good to be true. It has the winning combination of a central location, tranquility, and beautiful buildings – housing sophisticated bars and eateries – that makes this neighborhood Stockholm’s most sought-after place to live. If walking through this area makes you feel like walking through a fairy tale or picture book it’s no surprise, as it’s actually the film set of the famous Swedish children story Karlsson-on-the-Roof. No matter what season, Vasastan manages to impress in the sunshine, covered in snow and won’t even lose its charm when soaked in rain.
