This place just does it right. It is a relaxed, beautiful hotel with a lovely vibe. Friendly staff on reception and brilliant food at the huge breakfast. We bought our toddler of 18 months along and a cot was ready in the room and we were allowed an early check in as the room was ready which was really appreciated....

This hotel was everything we hoped I would be. Cool, clean, functional with a great atmosphere, brilliant bar/restaurant and amazing service, especially from the guys in reception - they couldn't have been more helpful. The free coffee bar on the fourth floor and teddy bear in the room were highlights. PS3 for hire in your room and an extensive collection...

This was a genuinely good experience from check-in till I picked up my luggage from the luggage room. Friendly staff everywhere, both in the reception and restaurant. Nice room with designer products in the bathroom, waterfall-shower, ironing board and blow-dryer. (Although quite small. I was also staying at 518, as I see is mentioned in a previous review from double0stefan's.)...

I've stayed here before and for me there is no better place to come. The service is exceptional especially if you want ideas where to go. Location is great and you're just 1minute from the best gay bar in Stockholm, 5 mins from Slussen for the underground, ferries to some of the bigger out of centre museums and galleries, and...

OK. I understand the cool, chic nature of this hotel, but I am writing this review from the confined 'comfort' of my room/shoebox (room 518 if you're wondering). I asked for a quiet room on a high floor. Got both. Thanks. No mention of having to breathe in when I walk in... Back to the Lydmar next time...

This is a brilliant hotel - although we didnt see Benny. Rooms were quiet and really quite excellent. Breakfast was a veritable feast. The hotel is on a quiet quite posh square and there are loads of bars and restaurants nearby. Look no further, stay here.

My husband and I just got back from a long weekend in Stockholm. The Hotel Rival was a fantastic base for exploring the city and we walked to almost everything from there. The design and decor of the room were both very cool and comfortable/functional. Also, the room was bigger than I had expected given the usual size of rooms...

As we where attending a perfomance in the theatre downstairs we decided on spending the night at Hotel Rival. Very helpful and friendly staff greeted us in the reception and we were upgraded to a larger room which is always nice. We had well-equipped room facing the courtyard which was quite enough even with the window open. The room was...

Our travel agent wanted to book us into a very expensive waterfront hotel for our 3 nights in Stockholm but friends said Rival is the place to go. Our friends were so right. This hotel has great rooms, great breakfast, great staff, great location. Book now.

We spent 5 nights in this trendy and lively hotel. Coming from the states, we felt the hotel was too pricey. That's the only reason for 4 point rating. Otherwise, service, location, comfort and style are rated 5! I know others have stated the hotel is little out of the "center" but we felt the location was perfect. It is...

Staying in Mariatorget

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariatorget
This rather quiet neighborhood revolves around a postcard-like park with a dramatic fountain in its center and is definitely one of Stockholm’s showcase neighborhoods. Mariatorget, a central residential area, is the best Stockholm has to offer when it comes to juxtaposing architectural masterpieces with sophisticated art galleries, coffee shops and bars. Stockholmers love to spend their weekends in the park or one of the nearby coffee shops, so come to Mariatorget to meet the locals. The northern part of Mariatorget boasts historic buildings, beautiful cobblestone streets, and one of Stockholm’s best observation decks, Monteliusvägen, from where you can see an amazing view of the city hall and Stockholm’s old town.
