If you love having a drink by the sea right on the beach (and who doesn’t?) Hornstull & Långholmen should be on top of your list. The area was recently redeveloped and now not only offers artsy bars and edgy restaurants but also a post-modern shopping mall complex for urban retail therapy. Hornstull belongs to the more established and sophisticated neighborhoods in Stockholm and is the typical place where you’ll find Swedish dads meeting for a latte during their paternal leave, or where local office workers meet up at the art cinema for a drink or a movie after work. The beaches in Hornstull and Långholmen are popular destinations for barbeques and sunbathing during the summer. Bring sunscreen.
This hotel in an old prison is rather cozy and cool in its oddness. Howerver, the single rooms are a bit small and there were a few in my travel company that felt a bit creeped out by that. It is clean, and the restaurant and pub next door are cozy. The staff are friendly and the place is clean and the surrounding area is great both in winter and summer for walks and hanging outdoors. The subway is not far off, and Stockholm city centre is 20 minutes away by walk and subway - so the location is not bad. I am sure it would be a great experience for kids to stay a night here, but I am not sure that more than one night would be as much fun. I could imagine going back for a holiday trip with my family.
Unexpected experience - sleep in a prison museum, eat like a king! Near the city, metro and buss stop by the lake and surrounded by a park. I highly recommend to everybody with open mind and a sense for adventure.
Here you really sleep in prison cell! Refurbished of course with a comfy bed. But as cell the rooms are small. A cell between two rooms has be converted into a small but functional bathroom. All fresh and fun 😀
If you are looking for 5* comfort and luxury this will not be the place for you. If you do want somewhere that is quirky and reasonably priced this is the place for you. It was originally a prison and a lot of the original features have been retained including using the original cells as guest rooms. The food is good, both for breakfast and an evening meal. The hotel is on an island about twenty minutes from the central station via the Metro.
the reception service is helpful. Room security is good.if possible, some hotel orientation provided to the customers without booking and charging. Maybe set up a scheduled for customers to join.Provide bed linens and daily room cleasning services.
