Stayed at this hotel as part of the Viking Cruise package from Helsinki to Stockholm. It was not in a very good location for visiting the old city and tourist attractions, but I saw it was right on the subway line so I booked it. Their website also indicates it is only meters from the subway. What the website did...

The First Hotel Amaranten is directly located at the Radhus underground station and at walking distance from the railway station. When I arrived the hotel was fully booked so they upgraded me to a room in their executive floor. The room was not very big but stylish. Lot of wood - i liked it. It was quiet and comfortable. Stayed only for 1 night. We arrived by bus from Bromma Airport at the City Terminal and that was not even 10 minutes by foot (with not much luggage). Large and contemporary lobby with adjoining bar and breakfast restaurant. The room looked good at first sight. Nice furniture, large flat screen tv, wooden floor. However, the room was small and...

The Hotel doesn't look so nice from outside, but the lobby is much better and the rooms are small but stylish. The bathroom is a bit old, but it is okay for a business trip. The receptionists are very helpful and friendly, they all speek english. The hotel is located ten minutes walk from the central station and the airport...

The hotel is nicely located, friendly staff and the rooms are clean and ok. One should expect that and one more thing - air conditioning. Rooms can get hot when locked up all day or in the summer months. It is amazing that this hotel still remains without air con. There are also some basic things that otherwise ruin a...

My room was typical European: no carpeting and small but comfortable, but that's about the best I can say. I looked out onto an empty cement courtyard with nothing to see except the other rooms. One of the two water glasses in the bathroom was badly chipped, and the trash can with foot lever was busted. I tried to call...

Stayed at the hotel on business as it was only two stops on the T-bahn from the local office. Room was small but had all that I needed for my week long stay. Staff are very friendly and the buffet breakfast has lots of choice but can get crowded. Some good places for dinner within walking distance.

The best thing about this hotel was the location. It was very close to the underground train and also to shops, so it was easy to get everywhere. The hotel itself was nice, but basic as most European hotels. The rooms were also a bit small, but it was manageable. The staff was very friendly and polite and everyone spoke...

Staying in Kungsholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Kungsholmen
Kungsholmen is one of the largest islands in central Stockholm and one of the most popular places to live. Its most famous attraction is Stockholm’s City Hall, which stands out with its monumental architecture and is one of the most photographed buildings in Sweden. Kungsholmen has its own little city center and shopping mall, its own beach and a lovely pedestrian area next to the water, which charms both locals and visitors with beautiful little cafés, restaurants and of course an awesome view. This neighborhood is perfect for a relaxed stroll followed by some coffee on a Sunday afternoon.
