Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest)

Original houses of the hotel was built early 17th century. The hotel originally concist of 7 Buildings. Two of them were private properties, one was a guest house and the rest used as pack houses as all sailing ships unloaded their cargo here. During 1920.s they tore down the front building of 4 stories and build up a new of 7 stories and 60 rooms. 1964 they included the pack houses behind the front and into the hotel and now it had 130 rooms. During the 90.s the dining room was moved to ground floor and now it became 144 rooms as we have today. Hotel was totally renovated 1996 and partially renovated 2007. Last year we completed 2 rooms to seek out the new design for a total renovation later this year.
I hope this gives you the answers you were looking for.
Best Regards
