Two years has gone since my last review of this hotel. Again I stayed one night at this Hilton next to the old town. Location is very good and the room I was upgraded had great view to the old town and all the space I could dream of. It was a large bedroom and a small separate "tv room"....

Ok, so there is no denying that this hotel is in a great location, i.e. 3 minute stroll to the old town and with views (from an Executive room) across the water to the City Hall, but the hotel itself doesn't really feel like a Hilton and doesn't seem impressive enough to me compared to Hilton's in other countries. It's...

We have just returned from a great two night stay at this hotel. We had booked an executive room, which gave access to the executive lounge, which meant breakfast free each morning and canapes and drinks from 6pm, which is well worth doing as the drinks can be expensive in Stockholm. Breakfast was more than enough, and not worth paying...

Really convenient for city breaks and blessed with truly outstanding staff. Reasonable value if booked with a discount. Big, big drawback is that many rooms are small for couples and with bizarrely little storage and even, in our room, bizarrely no drawers at all. This is despite expensive and striking decor, a triumph of style over substance and practicality. Standard...

Typical American hotel chain/standards. Clean, nice bathrooms, helpful staff. Air-conditioning. Location was perfect; across the canal from Gamla Stan, lots of restaurants and shops around going the opposite way. I liked that they had computers for guest use. The one concierge (forget his name -- he was blond and tall (ha ha I know that isn't very descriptive in Sweden)),...

We stayed four nights in Stockholm at the Hilton and were very pleased. We stayed in the Riddarholm Suite which had nice views of the city on two of the three sides, was very spacious, extremely comfortable, and had lots of cross ventilation (it was warm when we were there). The big attraction of this hotel to us was that...

If what you want is a really good location looking across to the old town with high Hilton standards you couldn't go wrong with this hotel. I and my family stayed for 4 nights in very comfortable rooms, admittedly Executive Rooms, with good views across to the Stockholm old town. The hotel does sit above a busy rail / metro...

This is the second time I tried a Hilton hotel in a large European City and have been disappointed both times. I will not be staying at a Hilton in future trips to Europe based on these experiences. The room and bathroom are extremely small, the view horrible, and the lobby area had no bar to get a drink or...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your recent stay with us. Sorry to hear that you were overall disappointed with many elements of your stay. Rooms are generally smaller in Scandinavia compared to many other parts of the world. This is unfortunately difficult to change, but we have different room types to choose from with...

Stayed here for 4 nights booked on the Hilton weekender rate which gave 33% off and breakfast included so was a good price for Sweden. Friendly check in girl (English from Cheshire) worked hard to give us a twin quiet room overlooking a side road, offices opposite, no noise, really quiet as we are both light sleepers and we were...

Very convenient to Old Town as well as restaurants. Breakfast price was a bit steep, but the rooms were large and the location made it perfect for sightseeing. Typical Scandinavian furnishings, which might seem a bit sparse to some. Great restaurant recommendations from front desk.

Staying in Slussen

Neighbourhood Profile
Slussen
A unique mix of grotesque 1960s concrete urban vision and cosy historical Swedish brick houses, Slussen has become one of Stockholm’s most architecturally edgy and controversial neighborhoods. Plans to rebuild the area have been on the agenda for decades, however, so far no agreement could be reached, which is the reason for the continuing decay of its brutalist substance. Nevertheless, the museums and the main shopping street, Götgatan, attract both locals and tourists with Sweden’s most fashion-forward clothing retailers, hipster coffee shops and restaurants. Once the lights are out, the area turns into a bustling nightlife haven, catering to all preferences, from posh hotel bars to sweaty underground nightclubs. There is no better place to experience the clash between old and new Sweden.
