Luxury Hotel? NO Quirky, unusual, interesting, clean, perfect location? YES Okay, where to start? I have read other reviews and they all mention how small the rooms are, it's a yacht, what do they expect? The room we had was room 110 (Captains cabin) it was clean, serviced every day and larger than the standard cabins but if you are... More

I really enjoyed staying here and would gladly do it again. Everyone was really nice, free breakfast was amazing, loved the free sparkling water in the lobby and sauna. My room was cleaned pretty well most of the time, but it could have used some vaccuuming - it was kind of dirty and I did not like to walk around... More

Stayed for one night on a weekend break. Great value, characterful and cosy room, incredible unlimited buffet breakfast and a very central location. I can't believe there's a better place to stay in Stockholm!

I wanted to give this more than three stars. I didn't really mind the tiny size of the cabin & was expecting it. The shower was great (except for, in the two cabins in which I showered, the water temperature changed constantly throughout the shower), and the staff was very nice, very courteous and helpful and understanding. The small bed... More

Location of hotel was 5 min walk to Gamla Stan (Old Town), where there's plenty of shopping and restaurants. The hotel provided complimentary breakfast buffet which was very nice. Rooms were very small but it's okay considering we were only there to sleep. It was definitely a different experience. Free WIFI

We stayed two nights last week at this hotel and was very impressed. From the moment we turned the corner and saw the ship, we knew we were going to love it (full disclosure - we are boat fanatics anyway). The people that worked the front desk were great and friendly, we were given room 215. Yes, the room is... More

Nice to stay on a ship, but expect very small rooms, but they are clean. Breakfast was good. Could be a bit noisy because walls/ceilings/floors are made of wood. DId not like the fact they asked money for a simple cup of tea.

The hotel is wonderfull. Nice guys on reception, well informed, fast serving. Breakfast is also nice. The view from the restaurant is picturesque. The only thing is the shower, not very comfortable. The bed in our room was big and the blanket very warm.

Ideal for a single person or those who are ready for staying at a unique kind of accommodation - for 1-2 nights in a small or larger cabin of an old ship which was once in the ownership of a young millionaire. It is not for those who are looking for a spacy accommodation but for those who appreciate a... More

We recently stayed here for 3 nights in the Captains Cabin. The location was great - so close to the metro and Gamla Stan. The breakfast was in a pretty waterview restaurant with plentiful offerings. Staff was very nice and always helpful. We were able to store our bags as we arrived before check in. We used the sauna and... More

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
