Very good customer service at check in, but family room very poor. Smelt of damp. My partner wouldnt use shower as looked decayed. In major need of new furniture. Carpet old. More of a b&b than a hotel. Not worth £120 PER NIGHT. Didnt even include breakfast.

Many thanks for your constructive feedback. We are in the process of renovation and refurbishment now in the shoulder season, so the carpets have been removed and replaced with new ones and a modern floor. We consider our property a homely hotel - a home away from home. As you would have seen on your search - the prices are...

I stayed at this Grade 1 listed hotel last night in a single room which although small was clean, warm, comfortable with lots of hot water and good lighting for reading/makeup. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I was able to park in the street virtually opposite using my Pay to Park app. Parking is free between 8pm...

Thank you ogordonski for your lovely positive review - yes agreed your single room was small but cosy (we have guests that specifically ask for that room) - I am afraid this was the last room and next time we shall try our best to offer you an upgrade, which we offered to your friend Mary. We are one of...

We stayed here for the weekend and the key to deciding whether to stay here if you prefer the bog standard hotel don't stay here but if you like something different we would recommend it. Our room was slightly odd , small and not the most comfortable in the world but it was (like the hotel) different and original. Pluses...

Thank you Peter for your lovely and honest review. We enjoyed your company immensely. Yes we are a tad different and original in that we aim to offer a very homely special personal charming experience and a genuine Brighton experience in this marvellous grand square of ours. Well done for even attempting to spell that Irish name of mine -...

Stayed for 1 night in a twin room at the top of the building. LOTS of stairs- for which we were prepared. The room was clean and had all the basics. The beds were comfortable and the bedding spotless. Clean bathroom with shower/corner bath and plenty of hot water. Table in bedroom would perhaps benefit from a cloth - but...

Just returned from a wonderful stay in this lovely hotel. Yes the rooms are a bit tired looking , but it is a very old building. We were met by the hosts who were absolutely lovely and you felt like you was a friend not just a guest , asking us where we had been and did we have fun....

Thank you Heather for such a lovely review and we really enjoyed meeting you and recommending all the places that we love to go here. Glad you had a ball. We booked in for two nights in order to go to a local wedding, from the website/outside the hotel looked fine, however we were given a room just up the stairs from reception. This itself caused a few problems as we were woken up with someone checking in at 11:40pm virtually outside of our room, the member of staff doing...

Dear Kelvin, just looking at the history of your booking, you amended your booking from 3 to 2 nights and then a further 2 nights to 1 night. As you will have known that we had firstly a 3 night minimum and then a 2 night minimum stay on all booking sites, which we waived in your favour. We were...

The hotel wasn't as clean as it might have been (not too bad though); and it was a bit pricey for what was on offer. Parking was available, but rather convoluted! Weekend parking is about a mile away, this worked for me, and was much easier and cheaper than elsewhere, but did take some time to sort. Shower was a...

Nice location for this pretty good hotel. The service is very friendly and the living room very confortable. You can have drinks in their own bar. Great experience with the real Brighton taste. Cosy. they also have a special arrangement for the car park during weekends which can help.

I loved staying here. The owners are absolutely lovely. Very accommodating and knowledgeable on the area. Nothing too much trouble.
