CABINN City Hotel garners praise for its excellent location, a stone's throw from the train station and Tivoli Gardens, making it a convenient choice for many travelers. While the staff's friendliness and helpfulness are consistently noted, the rooms receive mixed reviews—acknowledged as clean and practical for short stays, yet criticized for being basic and cramped. Despite the hotel's atmosphere receiving varied opinions, its budget-friendly nature and amenities like luggage storage and bicycle hire add to its appeal for guests seeking a practical stay in the city.

The location is great, only about a 5 minute walk from the central station. The hotel is nice, room was a bit small, but we expected that. The window could not be opened more than a crack. The shower is a little awkward and it is really hard not to get water all over the bathroom floor, which is also because shower head is fixed on the ceiling. Otherwise the room was clean and breakfast was good. When we visited there was no room cleaning due to COVID-19, so if you wanted to have towels changed or more toilet paper/soap (for longer stays - we were here 6 nights), you had to go to reception where you got whatever you wanted. On the day of departure, our flight was in the evening, so they let us leave the baggage in a storage for free. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is rather simple, but in a very good shape. The rooms are very small but are well planned. Someone has really been thinking Functional!! The rooms holds a small shower, a and small closet, TV, water boiler, mugs and coffee/tea. The shower is almost “on top” of the Wc but with “first class” waters scraper it works very well. The beds are comfortable and the covers and pillows are fresh.
++for the service free refill of instant coffee/tee and milk. The lobby is big and comfortable and holds several seating places, both couches and chairs with tables. The staff is very helpful. And the location is superior! Only five minutes walk from the station.

Pros -

Location. The location of this hotel is incredible, and you get value for money for this alone. We were 5 minutes from the main entrance of Tivoli Gardens (1 minute from the back gate), 20 minutes from main attractions like Nyhavn and for absolute convenience the central station where you can get buses as well as the train is the same distance as Tivoli. Quite simply no better place in terms of location in Copenhagen.

Breakfast. A simple choice of continental food, with only small sausages and scrambled egg options as hot food. It’s a buffet so a case of helping yourself, and there’s more than enough to fuel up on before starting the day.

Reception. The staff were great. We arrived much earlier than our check in time but there was no issue leaving our luggage and enjoying a day in the city before coming back later. The reception sells snacks, beers and coffees for a reasonable price by Copenhagen standards and the bar area is peaceful and relaxing. The decor in the reception area comes across as a 3 star hotel at least.

Cons

The room. Maybe my fault but strangely when I booked the room as part of a package it was “double or twin room” which suggests we get what we’re given. My and my partner went on this trip to Copenhagen, so ideally would have had a double room. Unfortunately we ended up in a room with bunk beds. It was a bit of a novelty and we had a laugh about it, and ultimately we could have asked reception to change rooms and didn’t so we made do. The size of the room is tiny, and the bathroom is even smaller (size of a walk in wardrobe). The shower and tap seem connected to each other - when you turn one on the other drips - and the shower head is really weak. However, we had a really busy weekend packed with activities and we only really used the room to sleep so we could make do with what we got. However, it was very clean.

That’s probably the only con, albeit a big one for some. Personally, although I would rather a fancy room with plenty of utilities, it’s far from essential and I would be happy to stay here again should I ever visit Copenhagen again.

The concept is based on a small ships cabin with attached bathroom. As a former marine biologist I found it quite roomy and comfortable. My wife had stayed in a Cabinn before and was quite happy to recommend we stay at one.Every thing is there but compact. On the other hand how much time will the average tourist spend in their room.
The breakfast was good and with plenty of choices. Snacks including sandwiches and rolls, cooldrinks and beer are available in the reception area. The reception staff are some of the most friendly and helpful we have ever come across.
The location is fantastic, so many things are in the vicinity, including the Tivoli Gardens. The Tivoli Food Hall is a great place to get a meal and one enters from the street so doed not have to pay to get in. Just be prepared to eat early or late 17:00to 21:00 it is packed.
A feature we like was the system that they only service the room if the guest requests it. So relaxing that one can leave the room a bit of a jumble without feeling bad.
Our only gripe was the shower, the water pressure at the basin was really powerful but the shower trickled out. A nice feature of the bathroom was the floor, it was very smooth so the supplied squeegee dried the floor, but at the same time it was not at all slippery.

Staff at reception lacked friendliness and in fact seemed to view me with suspicion! Maybe this is just part of the conservative Danish personality??...
The housekeeping was also very minimal (not even emptying rubbish daily from tiny bin in the room) and there were no useful amenities supplied - such as real sized cups or cutlery.
This lot are sitting on a goldmine and make their money very easily....

Stayed here for 3 nights with a friend in a bunk room. First 2 nights slept well, mattresses quite firm and pillows very thin. Thought it was good value for money following these 2 nights. However on the final night we were kept awake by the some neighbours who were screaming and shouting until the early hours of the morning, very thin walls. The room gets very hot if the window is not kept open and there aren’t any controls for heating/AC. The en-suite wasn’t the cleanest with lots of hairs on the wall. Some toiletries are provided however we didn’t use these. It did offer breakfast for an additional cost however we didn’t use this service. It’s a close distance to Copenhagen central station which was useful and has some fast food/breakfast options inside.

It is essentially a very cheap place to rest your head in an expensive city so you get what you pay for and it was value for money so can’t really complain.

Seeking economy in expensive Copenhagen we chose Cabinn City Hotel near Tivoli for a one night stay pre-cruise. Clean and very small the room allowed two people and large luggage to get in, enjoy TV, sleep and have breakfast at the table The queen sized bed aligned against the wall had a bunk above, impossibly high for older persons to ladder up. .
The bathroom was too small as the curtain of the shower did not keep the water in. The shower overlapped the toilet and sink. The soap and amenities spare but adequate. Clean in every way.
WE asked near the elevator as mobility limited and got a very very long walk to the room. Disappointed. No balcony as in pictures. No view. Quiet off street on courtyard.
Their breakfast at 10E each seemed unnecessary so we carried in. WE needed ice and got that at the front desk. Two employees speaking English were at the desk whenever we went by. The neighborhood is great near Tivoli and Radhuisplatz. Supermarket within 100 meters. Desk clerks varied greatly in local knowledge. Did not know city bus route passing 50 meters away??
Cost was 1/3 of our more recent stay ( June 2023) in Copenhagen at a large hotel on Radhuisplatz. WE would stay here again and get a King sized bed

This is a budget hotel in central Copenhagen, close to the main rail station and many city attractions. Set you expectations to match this, it doesn’t pretend to be a 5 star establishment. Our rooms were clean, snug and functional, with a very small on-suite, but the location is really good. If you can get a room at the end of a corridor away from the lifts, its less noisy.
There is also a secured luggage storage facility and within this, individual secured lockers which are at an extra cost.
We would stay here again.

Hotels in CPH can be pricey, this was one of the cheaper centrally. It was some night stay solo so just needed a bed for the night. And it met that.,check i. Was efficient, room, small as expected: if you’ve traveled on a ferry berth you’ll know what to expect. My room, on ground floor was a little noisy with people passing outside, the widow was restricted also no ventilation but not much of an issue at winter.
The rooms being small there was some nice areas to sit out interior and exterior. It’s in a great location too,
The breakfast, was good, if a little chaotic (people tend to arrive similar times) but a good continental selection and plenty of seating. It was regularly replenished. I enjoyed my stay here and it’s ideal if you just want somewhere cheap to sleep.

It’s a budget hotel, it’s no thrills and it’s what you expect.

Had a few complaints though, the room was not clean, I had stains on my bedding and towels and hair stuck to the little wiper they provide to help clean the bathroom.

The walls were paper and I mean paper thin, I was finding myself waking up everytime someone left their room…

The heating, doesn’t turn off? It was very cold during our stay but when inside the room the non stop heating was making it very uncomfortable when sleeping, I was able to kinda open a window to combat this but it didn’t help much.

Overall though this hotel is much more affordable than other hotels in the area and is in a great location for the Train Station (5 min walk) and Tivoli (5 min walk)

Staff were always very helpful and friendly

Sorry I didn't see your question until now. We had our daughter with us, so we booked a four person family room. It had two bunk beds. So I can't really advise you on rooms for just a couple. I can assure you that it's a decent, inexpensive hotel. It's quite basic in its amenities, but there is a good breakfast, the price is hard to beat, and it's just a block from Tivoli Gardens and the rest of downtown. It's Rick Steves' top pick for budget lodging, and I would agree,

No shuttle service. Not a far walk from train station. Took me a bit to look for it, sort of hidden but wasn't that bad.

Yes, we stayed in a queen room, and although it was typical of European hotel rooms (small!) we felt we had ample room for ourselves and our luggage. It was a very comfortable hotel.
