This guest house is funny place in the heart of Amager. The price is about 60 Euros so it is cheap for Copenhagen. The bar downtairs is typical for Amager with "special" locals sitting and smoking, playing cards and beiing Danish. We liked the experience but the rooms ar enothing special and even not like a hotel, but the athmosphere... More

I read previous reviews, took the nay-sayers with a grain of salt, and booked a room for three of us. The nay-sayers were all correct: the "reception" area is nothing more than a counter next to the smoky bar which doubles as the breakfast area. At 6:00 p.m., the porter/receptionist was much more interested in getting back to the bar... More

Good value hotel, although a 20 min walk to ströget. We stayed for two nights and breakfast was included in the price. Room was clean and cozy with high ceiling and big windows. Guess the rooms we got had a newly renovated bathroom, which was nice. Parking sapce in the street was expensive though. And the small breakfasbuffe was nothing... More

First, keep in mind that hotels are just flat out expensive in Copenhagen due primarily to the poor exchange rate. Nothing is inexpensive, including this hotel but it's cheaper than most. It's an old place, but that kind of adds to the charm. Breakfast in the morning is coffee, cold cuts and cereal, nothing special but adequate. The main feature... More

Clean, updated rooms in a very old hotel. Conveniently located; safe. Five minute bus ride to Tivoli Gardens, train station, Nyhavn, etc.; very friendly and helpful people; breakfast consisted of fresh coffee, fresh bread, delicious cheeses and cold cuts, jams, cereals, juice. A perfect spot for seeing Copenhagen. Reasonably priced.

Don't stay at this hotel. They will rip you off. They are not very nice people. I called to cancel our reservation and got home to find that they charged me the entire stay. When we called them to cancel, they were very angry. I am trying to email them to solve this problem and they will not reply. I... More

Easy to find on Metro line direct to and from airport. Also on good choice of bus routes into central Copenhagen where there are many things to see/do without paying a central location price tag for accomodation. However the basic breakfast in bar area would put off many from returning even though it is now a smoke free area (still retains that... We have stayed at the Hotel Amager at 29 Amagerbrogade twice in a period of three years. This is a modest 2 star hotel wonderfully located on a main street with bus and metro stops close by that go directly to center city and to the airport. The rooms are clean, with bathrooms, and with TV's with extensive satellite converage.... More

Bus 2A and 5A stop in front of the entrance and take you to the city center in about 5 to 10 minutes (so walking is no problem either). Hotel is o.k. and clean, helpful staff.. Breakfast is basic.

Staying in Amager

Neighbourhood Profile
In the eastern part of this neighbourhood, visitors will discover Amager Strandpark, a beach area which has become increasingly popular. It’s only a 30 minute bicycle ride or a 10 minute Metro trip away from the city center. Only a few hundred yards inland, some of the most creative musicians, artists, and writers in Copenhagen are occupying some of the old storage houses and production facilities. The western part is one of Copenhagen's most rapidly evolving areas, here you’ll find international architecture of the highest rank, the state of the art TV-Byen (the Danish pendant to BBC), a golf course as well as Copenhagen's best (and tiniest) ice bar.
