The hotel is located in the city center, next to the subway, close to the new harbor, the little mermaid, casteelet and other attractions. The corridors are small, the rooms are small, all interfere with wooden beams

A fine hotel with history, pleasant and efficient staff, some rooms a bit small but well appointed. Central location near Nyhavn. Good bar and restaurant. Near to city centre shopping and museums, botanical garden.

I much appreciated the central location, cosy room and friendly staff. On the negative side, the air was quite stuffy. Keeping the window open at night helps provided one is not sensitive to noise. If one is not bothered by a slight smell of sweat emanating from the wall-to-wall carpet, I can recommend the hotel. I repeatedly experienced technical problems...

This hotel is very impressive, it looks solid , historical, it is on the Harbour. Half of the rooms have a view on the harbor, and although I hadn't booked one on this side, the reception managed to fit me in room 576. It was very kind of them. The window was awfully small, but had a view on the...

Impressive historic architecture and modern design. Delicious breakfast! Nice location facing the waterfront and the new Opera house. Close to the Amalienborg Royal Palace. At the moment there are construction works in Kvæsthusmolen Pier in front of the hotel, however we were not much disturbed. Although there is a free wifi in the rooms, it sometimes disappears.

The hotel has great location with the water and close to Nyhavn. Good breakfast and a decent bar. Pleasant staff made both check in and the stay memorable. All in all a very good choice for hotel in Copenhagen - I will be back next time for sure..

My husband and stayed here for a night after our Baltic Cruise. It was a lovely hotel and very conveniently located along the main canal. We hired the bikes at the Hotel and enjoyed biking around the city. A great way to get around as it is very flat. I found our room a little small - but ok for...

The noise outside is very loud - windows need to be open due to lack of A/c so hence very poor sleep. On both occasions we tried to take dinner in SALT the restaurant we were refused on the basis that the it was full even though it was half empty. The lady managing access was very rude and officious...

I enjoyed my stay at the Admiral, the view was really nice and it was conveniently located for access to the downtown Copenhagen area and shopping. However I was staying here for an extended period and this was not my first trip to Denmark, so it was a little frustrating not having any capabilities to really eat or keep food...

Spent 3 nights here in May on a short break. The hotel is well located particularly for Nyhavn and the Amalienborg palace but nothing was too far away as we hired bikes from the hotel reception twice and it was a fantastic way to get around the city, see the sites and get to more remote parts - this place...

Neighbourhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty. ... more   less
