This hotel has charm in spades being a converted granary situated on the waterfront. In our room are massive original wooden beams that are part of the structure of the building which makes it even more special. Location is excellent being close to several attractions or within easy walking distance. Accommodation is of a good standard; I particularly liked the...

A quick business trip and 1 night in Copenhagen. I did not spend much time at the hotel, but I really liked the hotel and plan to stay here next time I bring my family to Copenhagen. Perfect location. 2 minute walk to Nyhavn, 5 minute walk to Strøget and 20 minute walk to Tivoli. I also liked the hotel...

Lower rooms at the front of the hotel can be very noisy but the staff were very helpful and moved us to a room higher up at the back. The beds are soft but really comfortable. The rooms are not large but spotlessly clean and interesting. It is a good hotel with amazing history and architecture, the best aspect -...

The hotel is situated just north of trendy Nyhavn and close to the Amelienborg palace. It is only a short walk to Kongens Nytorv and Strøget which is the principal shopping street. The views to the opera house and harbour are fantastic. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. There is an excellent breakfast available which sets you up for a...

Yes, the historic building is pretty with lots of exposed beams and brickwork. Yes, the check-in staff are helpful and friendly. But the rooms are dull and need to be modernized and upgraded, especially the bathrooms. Rooms facing the street are noisy especially on the lower floors. Traffic and related noise start early from approx 5am. Ask for a higher...

Very conveniently located - close to the city center. Nice hotel, while the reception staff is helpful - The restaurant staff at Salt could be better. Rooms are quite small but cosy. Travelers with back problems should watch out for the extra soft beds. Make sure you ask them for hard mattresses while booking. I would have rated this property...

Great historical building right on the water. Rooms very comfortable. Only drawback are the small bathrooms. Breakfast very generously and staff incredibly helpful and service orientated. Would highly recommend. Short walk to Amalienborg

From the moment I arrived, I was made to feel very welcome by the check in staff. My room was on the 6th floor and was the most gorgeous loft style hotel room, with my own sitting room, and even though the bathroom was a little on the small side, the rest of the room made up for it. The...

We stayed for a week at the Admiral Hotel and loved it. It is a lovely old building with lots of nautical features. The rooms are not what you'd call modern but have lovely features like old beams etc. The food was terrific and the guys in the bar really friendly and helpful. Would stay again any time.

This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty. ... more   less
