We stayed for two nights and were happy in general. The location is great as 3-4' walk to Nyhavn and great view of the Opera House. The rooms are too small, ours was a junior suite and the bed was upstairs but the bathroom was downstairs so it was not fun to climb the steep stairs. The cleaning was good...

Great nights stay at the Admiral. The staff were very very pleasant, the rooms were lovely, clean and comfortable with all the amenities you could wish for and the food in the bar and for breakfast was delicious. Thank you very much!

I stayed one night while on a business trip. The hotel is very conveniently located, within walking distance of Nyhaven and the major shopping center in Copenhagen. It's also a short walk to Tivoli Gardens, which is unfortunately closed in the winter. Service was good and the room was comfortable. The hotel lobby was particularly lovely. My major issue was...

I have always found hotels in Copenhagen a problem. The rooms in all hotels tend to be too small, the beds often uncomfortable and the bathrooms rather basic. I suspect that these are common shortcomings of Danish hotels The Admiral is in a good location - very close to Nyhavn. It has clearly been converted from a warehouse and, whilst...

Excellent hotel and well located. Staff are extremely helpful. Good restaurants in the area as you are in the Embassy area. Close proximity to all attractions. Very relaxed, have retained the original building well.

The hotel occupies what were originally two separate warehouses that were built in the last 1700's, and then combined in the late 1800's. The fully-functioning grain store contained as many as 30,000 barrels of grain! You get a sense of this through the retained and enormous oak beams and brick archways. The concept and execution of the hotel building, began...

Interesting architecturally: resembles a big, nautical barn. Rooms clean and comfortable. Restaurant good but overpriced. Reception staff delightful. A good location for exploration of Nyhavn and the islands; plus is only streets away from the stunning Design Museum - be prepared to walk though if visiting Tivoli Gardens ...

This is a wonderful hotel, especially with a room at the waterfront side. You see the opera and skuespilhuset, during the night these buildings are wonderfully lit (as is this hotel)! The room was not too small, not too big (for a couple) and had all necessary commodities (free internet, tv) Few minor points: the noise at night in neighbourg...

Fantastic Hotel with loads of old character and charm with a modern twist. Rooms are excellent and beds are very comfortable. The Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Great location for exploring Copenhagen.

Firstly, as many have said, the location for tourism is fantastic. All the big stuff is easily walkable, and frankly hard to beat (unless you want to pay Hotel D'Angleterre's prices!) The building itself is impressive from the outside, nicely lit at night, and if you like exposed timber beams indoors and model ships you're in for a treat. I...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty. ... more   less
