spent a night in the Grand Hotel Copenhagen and found it to be less than grand. Rooms were tiny and smelt of smoke and not many rooms had any decent views. Location was ok - walking distance to Tivoli and a nice stroll away from the canals. The elevators were a bit dodgy and only fit 3 people (without bags)...

I made a last minute booking for six nights at the Grand Hotel. I chose it partly on price but mainly because there were very few places with rooms left; consequently, I was a little apprehensive about it before we arrived. As it turned out, it couldn't have been better. The central location is hard to beat, our room (a...

A lovely old hotel in the centre of Copenhagen. While it didn't quite live up to it's billing, it wasn't disappointing. The room wasn't as 'spacious' as we were led to believe! If the bathroom door can't fully open because the not quite double bed is in the way that is not a big room. The bathroom itself was also...

One could not ask for a better location. one block from central station and Tivoli. A short walk to the main shopping areas and the Amielienborg Palaces. May be warm in the summer since it is not airconditioned.

5 days leisure travel. The hotel is very well located, very near to the Central Station (2 minutes walking). The staff was great, very pleasant, helpful and nice. No doubt that is the best asset of the hotel. The facilites in general are old, with very long corridors coming from joining different buildings in just one hotel, what sometimes make...

As the title says: there is nothing "Grand" about it. Tiniest ROOM ever to be called a double room. The BED was uneven and felt like it was maybe tilting a bit and almost square in shape. Also it was put into an alcove in the tiny room so there was NO way to get out of it on one...

Booked via hotel.Com and was slightly concerned about ratings and comments but didn't need to worry. Admittedly we upgraded to larger room but all reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Location was great. Didn't go to restaurant because we wanted to be more native! Hotel was clean, Beds very comfortable, water pressure good. There are more modern hotels but...

As I was looking for a nice 4 stars hotel near the train station I choose Grand Hotel based on the photos on their website and based on the reviews. I made a reservation for five nights but... I checked out after first night and upgraded for a 3 stars hotel in the neighbourhood. I have never felt so cheated...

Arrived at 11am - 4 hours before check-in to be told "good morning sir, your room is ready for you here is your key card" - Fantastic, couldn't wait to throw my bags in my room and go exploring in Copenhagen so thank you to the staff for giving me the extra time. The room was a bit dated with...

Staying in Inner Vesterbro

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner Vesterbro
This neighbourhood is home to Tivoli Gardens, a world famous amusement park and beautiful garden always worth a visit. Just west of Tivoli, you’ll find Copenhagen Central Station, from where you can reach just about every part of Denmark within 5 or 6 hours, or you can reach Copenhagen Airport in less than 15 minutes. Next to the Central Station, you’re in the middle of “old” Vesterbro, where several cultures and hundreds of languages are spoken in an area not more than one square mile. This neighbourhood is considered one of the most trendy places to live in and to visit in Copenhagen. For a real treat, visit Kødbyen ("meat town"), home to several restaurants, cafés and nightclubs, all within a short walk of each other.
