Whilst the hotel might be slightly further out from the central train station, Tivoli, and the main shopping streets than other hotels it's still a good base for exploring Copenhagen being only a 10 minute walk at most (or quicker bicycle ride) away from the train station. The hotel has a very modern feel for the traveller(s) who might be...

Had an enjoyable stay at Wakeup Copenhagen. The location is great - about 10 minutes to walk to the Tivoli Gardens, 15 minutes into the centre. On arrival, our room wasn't ready yet. They have a locker room downstairs where you pay 20DKK to put your bag in. The lockers are of varying sizes and when we got down there,...

We used this place for a quick visit of the Danish capital - mostly on foot. Location The location is good, although a little off the central downtown axis that goes through the main train station and the Tivoli, which is about a ten minute walk away. The west of the downtown area (e.g. Kobyen) is also cut off a...

My friends and I, we found this hotel on a Lonely Planet guide and how could we expect not to be teated well by a four stars design hotel? The hotel welcomes you really well because it is nice, technologic, well furnished, clean rooms with a personal bathroom. Nothing to say about the beginning of our stay, but everything went...

Dear Charlotta Taroni, We are very sorry that you had this sad incident in Copenhagen on New Years Eve and that Wakeup Copenhagen did not fulfil your expectations. First af all we would like to inform you that Wakeup Copenhagen is a 2-star budget hotel, and not a 4-star hotel as you are referring to. We regret that you had...

Stayed here for two nights in December 2013, in a double room on the 11th floor. The room was very small, but the use of space was ingenious! The minimalistic style and original shape of the bathroom and shower reminded me of the sci-fi movies from the 60s or 70s. The hotel including the rooms seemed very nice and clean....

Stayed a couple of nights due to a long layover in Copenhagen. Hotel is located about 15-20 min walk from the main train station, esp. with bags in tow--therefore about 15-20 mins from Tivoli and about 30 mins from the main sites. Definitely in an industrial area. Room was under kept though not dirty. There were some marks and such...

I booked the hotel through the website and was surprised upon check in that the room was on the lower floor parallel to the train station and heavy industries. The first night was wasted and need to pay more to change to a higher floor room. Front Office staff were polite but cannot do anything about the noise except to...

This hotel offers basic accommodation, only it's not old or run down but modern and new. I was happy with my stay at Wake Up Copenhagen. My single room was small, with a comfortable double bed, a nice courtyard window view, good lighting, flat screen TV with plenty of channels (only a few if you are after English speaking though),...

I was there because of work and glad it was only one night. If this kind of hotel was my only option in Copenhagen I would rather stay at home or go somewhere else. Other than that location is somewhat away from it all, in a middle of an industrial lot and not a pleasant walk at all to the...

Staying in Inner Vesterbro

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner Vesterbro
This neighbourhood is home to Tivoli Gardens, a world famous amusement park and beautiful garden always worth a visit. Just west of Tivoli, you’ll find Copenhagen Central Station, from where you can reach just about every part of Denmark within 5 or 6 hours, or you can reach Copenhagen Airport in less than 15 minutes. Next to the Central Station, you’re in the middle of “old” Vesterbro, where several cultures and hundreds of languages are spoken in an area not more than one square mile. This neighbourhood is considered one of the most trendy places to live in and to visit in Copenhagen. For a real treat, visit Kødbyen ("meat town"), home to several restaurants, cafés and nightclubs, all within a short walk of each other.
