Our first visit to Spetses. Villa Martha was recommended to us for its charming, rustic simple style that is typically Greek. If you are expecting a sleek modern hotel this is not for you. What Villa Martha does offer is a relaxing slice of Spetses, an exceptionally warm welcome, clean rooms, beautiful shaded garden area and swimming pool. Breakfast is simple but adequate. We had two rooms, one had a lovely balcony overlooking the garden. Located a short walk from Paradise Beach and within easy reach for the old/new town and it’s array of bars and restaurants. They are walkable, or you can hire bicycles, taxi or horse and carriage. Villa Martha is a homely family run hotel and Dimitri and Vasiliki are fantastic hosts. Friendly and offering the warmest welcome, nothing is too much trouble. …
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. However, I can definitely say that the room was not good value for money. The room was old and needs to be renovated. The balcony was tiny with no view and it was not completely separated from the balcony of the adjacent room. The air condition was old but functional. The bathroom was clean, but not something exceptional. The swimming pool seemed nice, but I did not use it. The garden was beautiful and neat. Breakfast: It was ok, but the options were limited. Hot coffee was available, but I would prefer to have been offered cold coffee as it is summer. Location: Easy access to the old port. You will need approximately 20 minutes if you want to walk to the new port, Dapia, from where the ships and sea taxis depart. Overall, the facilities do not represent the money you pay. When I booked this room I was expecting something much better. I'm sure that with less money you can find a room of the same or even better quality. I have travelled all around Europe and with 90 euros per night I have stayed in high-quality rooms. If the price was 60-70 euros per night I would have given 4 stars, but with a price of 90 euros per night the best rating I can give is 2 stars.…
It's a very nice villa close to the old harbour, the best area of Spetses town to go for a walk and have dinner. The owner was very kind and welcoming. She explained us where are located the beaches and which are their main characteristics and differences. The room was very clean and comfortable. The garden of the villa is fresh, sunny and shaded. There is a wonderful swimming pool where we spent a lot of time. Breakfast is quite simple but OK considering the price you pay for the accommodation. It includes fresh orange juice. I highly recommend this accommodation and Spetses as an island.
beautiful gardens with a decent pool, near to paradise beach which has a small watersports facility and good restaurant/bar. rooms have airconditioning, towels, bath materials and fridge, relatively dated decor though. we had a nice balcony with view to the garden. breakfast reasonable - no cooked food but plenty of bread, cheese, bakery, coffee, fresh juice etc at a relatively quiet end of the island, so in the night only the odd horse/carriage and motorbike goes by hosts are very accommodating and friendly - its a 900m walk to the town centre (200m to beach) - by taxi around 10 euros and horse/carriage 12....
We stayed in Villa Martha Spetses having booked last Christmas. We were met by Demetrius our host. We were made to feel most welcome. The decor is artistic and homely. We had the most super time, our hosts were wonderful people that could not have been any kinder or more thoughtful, we were genuinely sad to leave. It’s every bit as lovely as it looks in the pictures and is spotless. Breakfast was great too. Wholeheartedly recommend 😊
We had the pleasure of staying at Villa Martha over the last couple of days. It was a last minute booking and we were incredibly lucky to get their last room. We had the most super time, our hosts were wonderful people that could not have been any kinder or more thoughtful, we were genuinely sad to leave. It’s every bit as lovely as it looks in the pictures and is spotless. Breakfast was great too. Wholeheartedly recommend 😊
The hotel is a 2 star hotel that offers just this. It is located far from the center but in a nice and quite area. The surroundings are very nice and so is the swimming pool and the garden. Also the staff is very nice and helpful always with a bright smile and helpful. They make you feel welcomed and at home.On the negative side: the windows and the doors need to be re-fitted with new. The hotel doors and windows look and are very old and rusty. This make the room a bit not up to standards but still is decent. Also the rooms are a bit small.
We stayed at Villa Martha because of the reviews. We were not disappointed the room was clean and spacious. The garden was so well manicured with citrus trees and off course olive trees. The pool was so clean there was never a leaf found on the bottom of the pool considering the trees surrounding the property. Breakfast was served outside by the pool with a variety to pick from. Dimitri and Vasiliki were amazing hosts they were caring and recommended places to see and do. I would definately recommend this beautiful Villa 2 min walk to the beach and a short stroll to both ports old and new.
Fantastic garden and swimming pool. We had a relaxing time by the pool surrounded by trees. The pictures of the garden are exactly as shown. There was also a kiosk by the pool, which served snacks and drinks. Both Dimitri and Vasiliki were excellent hosts, ready to assist us. The room was nice and there was plenty of space. There was a small balcony with a table and chairs overlooking the garden. The only drawback was the bathroom which needs a refurbishment. The location was very good as the beach was at a walking distance. We will definitely visit them again.
This hotel in not for guests who look for modern streamlined accommodation. But it offers a tranquil oasis with a cool clear swimming pool in a garden with pomegranate, orange and lemon trees. The breakfast area is shaded by a gnarled olive tree. Dimitri and his wife offer traditional Greek hospitality. Restaurants are nearby, down the hill in the Old Harbour. We returned, after dinner, by horse and cart each night. The nearest beach is also down the hill in the direction away from the town. It is pebbly, but the swimming is superb and the restaurant serves delicious food.
