Stayed here for 1 night in May. The hotel is really nothing special but it's in a good location on the main street running through Sparta. The room is small and the bed was uncomfortable, but it was clean and fairly cheap. The owner/manager did insist on keeping my passport until we checked out, which I don't approve of at...

I was surprised to read a negative review. My mother and I stayed 4 nights in October and our stay at the Cecil was just perfect. The hotel is charming, clean, and offers the best price on the main street. The owners are genuinely nice, discreet, and helpful. We look forward to returning.

The main issue for me was the fact that we woke up to find that the Hotel completely lacked hot water. I went downstairs to request hot water and was offered a very fake "shocked" facial expression. The owner's hand adjusted a switch and I was told to wait 10 minutes and everything would be fine. We waited. After two...

This hotel is far under the average of the small, family run hotels we visited in Greece. Clean but without any charme, the room was very small and noisy; the location is very central, but the main street of Sparta is noisy, and many rooms have windows on it. Breakfast is on the average. If you can spend 10 euro...

Well, even for a budget hotel, this was a bit dingy. And I was not overjoyed by the porn collection in the bedside drawer. But the staff were very helpful and friendly, and breakfast was nice and included in the very reasonable rate. Sparti really isn't my idea of a great holiday destination, and I guess the hotel choices reflect...

I particularly appreciated the very warm and welcoming owner. I stayed solo here for 2 days last week. The rate was phenonemenal. And although to be harshly honest the room was neither large nor plush, it was still quite a bit more than I expected for the very good nightly rate. And another huge advantage, especially after a few days...

We stayed here for one night on the way to the Mani area so we could visit Mystra and really enjoyed it. The room was lovely and quaint. The price was good too!

I arrived a little deranged after nine hours on Greek roads at Easter time and the manager was warm and helpful, getting me into the room (and bed) in no time at all. Lovely room, balcony overlooking main street, but at the quieter end. Big bathroom and all nicely renovated with a bit of 1930's charm about the place too....

We found the telephone number and some information in Greece Rough Guides. I called directly and booked two triple rooms. He didn't require a credit card number for holding. Our son, his wife, two teen age children, and the 2 grandparents stayed there. Information said hotel had recent renovations. Everything clean. Close to the Sparti ruins. We walked there. One...
