Went to Cape North West twice during our holiday; the first visit was lovely with the gentle waves reaching the front legs of the sun lounger, excellent waitress service, sandy beach etc etc with very faint music tinkling in the background just audible but not detracting from the Cicadas in the nearby trees. Close to idyllic

So we went back a couple of days later.

What a difference and not for the better. Until 12.30pm all was as above until suddenly WHAM!!! Euro-disco muzak at a very loud volume flooded the beach - we had to raise our voices to communicate. The boom-boom-boom monotony of the bass made it even worse. Several people picked up their towels and left. I went to see the chap who was behind the beach bar and asked him to turn it down - it was intrusively loudly in your face - but he declined my request "is good!" he replied. "Is horrible" i countered.

By then we had ordered and paid for lunch so were trapped in the cacophony...

On arrival we sat at a table in the shade. We waited a while and I then approached the Bar to see if we could get a drink as I did so my partner was asked to move as we where the eating we had to sit at the bar. I ordered a large beer and I wanted a cocktail (untill I looked at the price) so I ordered a bacardi breezer. About 10 mins later we where given our drinks as they couldn't find a bottle opener!! No apology was given and I was passed the bottle (no glass) and the large beer was small compared to other places in parga. The staff where snobby and rude. We paid out bill which was €6.50 for the breezer and €5.50 for a (small) large beer and left...... not to return!! As my partner said "I wouldn't go back there if I had a million to spend!" (Although the staff would probably be falling over... More
