Stayed here for two nights. This hotel is ideally located, close to the old town. All the best sights are within walking distance. It has a lovely pool at the back and several happy hours, which is really good value for money. Breakfast was good, sit outside with nice view over the pool area. Only bad thing was that there...

this has been our ninth trip to the Ideon and on this occasion we were accompanied by my sister-in-law who had travelled from Canada. Most of her experience has been in USA, Hawai, Alaska, etc, so she would have high expectations in accomodation, dining and general "facilities". To say that she was in thrall to the Ideon is an understatement....

It has excellent location - near downtown and harbour and has a sea view. Both are great assets of hotel. Breakfast is ok. There is a nice pool on the back side. There is weak wi fi signal in the rooms but excellent in the lobby. Honestly, I prefer room wi fi. Don't see much point of lobby wi fi...

A three star establishment overlooking the sea. Our room was at the rear overlooking the extremely well kept and clean pool. Comfortable bed, cleaned thoroughly every day. Staff charming and helpful. Breakfasts adequate. Plenty of tavernas in the ''old'' town for other meals. A real pleasure to wander through the narrow alleys . Pity about the endless graffiti. Well worth...

It located right near sea and harbor, but you need to walk around 1 km to the beach. Genoesian fortress - 500 metres from it. There are plenty of bars and restaurants around. Some of tham are very noisy and loud with crowds of local youngsters. Bus stastation in 10-15 min. walk. Ideon has nice pool and very friendly stuff....

We are consistently, pleasantly surprised by the quality of 3-star hotels in Greece (wonderful country - wonderful people). The Ideon in Rethymnon, Crete, is no exception. We asked for a seaview room and some reviewers said that that side of the hotel could be noisy, but we went late Septmeber 2011 and it was not the case. The hotel is 20...

This was my first visit to Crete & we really went so that we could visit Knossos. We booked this hotel because it was in the old town. Wasn't sure what to expect, but we were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is in a wonderful location, close to restaurants, shops, the Fortezza, and a couple of very interesting museums. Arriving...

This hotel exceeded our expectations as we thought it might have been a bit run down, however we were pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel was fairly modern and in the best location if you were not looking for a beach holiday. The room was comfortable, shower OK (for Greece). Bar area was well looked after with free WiFi...
