So much character to this hotel. 300 Yr old Greek buildings. 2 beautiful pools. Staff so friendly and helpful. Street goes by our bathroom window so you can hear people talking when passing but it didn't bother us. Breakfast was fantastic. 2 sunbed areas very private onlyv4 beds in each. Close to square and great restaurants up and down the street. Tv in rooms and air con. Very busy location
We recently stayed at this amazing hotel for 10 nights. I cannot recommend it enough. The location is fabulous.. nestled in the centre of town. The setting is just stunning and the decor is beautiful. However, what makes this hotel truly special is its staff. They are all fantastic. Very accommodating always smiling friendly nothing is too much trouble and truly kind warm people. The hotel should be very proud of its staff and how they treat their guests.
The Rimondi hotel was in an old mansion. The courtyards and rooms and pools were exquisitely remodeled keeping their old world charm. The staff was exceptional and made us feel so welcome. Our room had a loft and a very large balcony. We felt very safe. Being right in the center of old town allowed us easy access to shops and restaurants and the castle. Parking was offsite, a couple of blocks away but the bell boys were available to help with our luggage. I would highly recommend this hotel as a romantic getaway on the island of Crete.
We arrived at the hotel and we’re greeted by such a friendly lady. She welcomed us and took our luggage as we our room wasn’t quite ready when we arrived. The hotel is tucked away on a little side street but you are right in the Center of old town so it’s a perfect location for this. The pools are clean and a cool temperature nice for a dip and then laying out in the sun afterwards. The room we stayed in was on the left hand side up on level. It has doors that opened out on to the view of the circular pool and terrace. It was roomy for 2 people and had a nice large shower. It comes with all the usual shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and lotion just so you know for packing. The bed was comfortable and the room tidy and clean. The room has a small fridge too and safe. The staff at the hotel were all so fried to and happy to help in any way. It was our honeymoon so when we arrived there was a heart shaped plate of dried fruit and nuts and a heart shaped wicker decorative item on the bed waiting for us alongside some sparkling wine they told us to ask for when we were ready. The breakfast is nice a mix of cold and hot dishes buffet style. The usual Greek mix including fresh fruit, cereals, breads and cakes. They served almond milk which was impressive as this was the first time in Crete I’d had this. The hotel also offer other meals but we didn’t try any of this food so can’t advise on this but in general the food was good quality and had some good variety too. We recommend as a good base whilst staying in old town. Close enough to stroll anywhere and everywhere. If you want to go to the beach go further the right hand side of the harbour the water is clearer and nicer but in general the beach was quite crowded.…
We have just returned from a week at this fantastic hotel. Never have we felt so well looked after, nothing was too much. The staff are all amazing Eleni, Mik, Stella, Meggi, Diamond and of course Yannis the manager. Even housekeeping (you should be proud). The hotel is in a perfect spot for the restaurants which are exceptional, the beach, holiday shopping and more. We found Cretian people warm and welcoming, we loved it! Mik have the English Breakfast Tea bags arrived yet? :) Mr & Mrs Smith.
What an amazing hotel steeped in history and culture. Small and perfectly formed. Fantastic rooms, ambience and the staff cannot do enough for you . Friendly and always eager to make your stay perfect. Loved the old town , beach and atmosphere. Would recommend this hotel and would love to come back very special.
We’ve just had a week at this great hotel. The staff are fantastic, they’ve looked after us so well. The hotel is quaint and has a lovely homely feel. Thanks to Mikalis, Diamond, Eleni, Meggi and Stella who made our trip awesome. We hope to be back soon, especially Josh who can’t wait to see you all again!
Venued on a picturesque narrow stone street, centrally located in the heart of restaurants & shops. (The shops shutter and restaurant street seating disappear overnight, allowing for pleasurable mornings walks and exploring). This historic elegant hotel includes two buildings, each abutting Xanthoudidou Street. One building is a former olive oil factory with courtyard pool, sitting area (this enclosed courtyard provides a reasonably large but still private area to sit reading or gather with friends for a drink from the bar that serves this area) and unique rooms. The more modern, but still historic sister building services as the 24 hour Concierge desk location, along with another outside lounge area pool which doubles as the morning breakfast space. This building includes the only elevator which rises to the second floor. Tucked away in both buildings are lounges, a bar area, conference room and small boutique shop. Eleni (the day manager) and Megi ( the main day concierge clerk) were especially warm, caring and helpful with all our needs, treating us like family. Where to eat, shop, take a tour, set up a gathering, print out boarding passes, whatever; these ladies made it their business to assist. One other gentleman, who’s name I’ve forgotten provided a continuous willingness to help and a dapper mustache evidencing his unique friendliness and commitment to service.…
Such a beautiful hotel in the perfect spot in Rethmynon Old Town. The staff were amazing and definitely make this hotel as they are all welcoming and friendly. Nothing too much trouble! The location is fab as you can explore all the little streets in the Old Town, do a spot of shopping, stop for a drink or visit the wonderful restaurants. Many of the restaurants have beautiful courtyards which are a perfect setting for dinner. I would recommend this hotel and hope to return.
By far the nicest place we stayed in Crete and one of the best anywhere! All the little details were thought of and most of all the staff made this place special. Especially Evangelia (Hope I spelled that correctly) who worked mornings and the breakfast. She is a huge asset to the hotel and should be recognized! The welcome drink was a nice touch. The breakfast spread changed every day and was high quality. They included some local dishes which was an extra detail. The courtyard is just beautiful and a peaceful retreat from the crowded streets just outside. In the room the bed was comfortable, the ac cooled the room down quickly and the shower had good water pressure. The room was also decorated with artwork. The location was directly in the heart of the old town yet close enough to walk to the local beaches. Our stay at Rimondi is one of my favorite memories of Crete. We hope to return!…
