Underground valet parking at a very reasonable price is directly across from the hotel. This is incredibly convenient for a hotel with a location right downtown close to everything. A good collection of restaurants located around a square in a pedestrian area was just a two minute walk away. The Archaeological Museum was a 15 minute walk and Knossos was a 15 minute drive. We had a room with a balcony though there wasn't much of a view. There was a good selection of items for breakfast.
Upon arrival we stayed one night then returned for 3 additional nights a week later. Our stay was all prepaid. We booked the Business Double which the DOM Hotel site shows a nice room with a sheer curtain at the patio. You can see an apartment across the way, you can even make out the windows on the neighbouring apartment. This looked excellent so we made our reservation. That was not the case as our first night we were on the 2nd Floor facing a grey Cement Wall no more than 10 feet away from our small patio. In fact our patio was surrounded by cement walls with no chairs/stools. On return we asked if they had made a mistake with the room that we had reserved…the reply was a Stern “No” from the Male at the reception desk. We requested a change of room. The only room available for one night only was the beautiful Penthouse Jr. Suite. We were happy to pay the additional 109 Euros. The next day when we were ready to change rooms again to the Business Double which was the ONLY room available, we asked if someone could assist us with our luggage….again we were told by the same Front Desk Clerk…a stern “No”! At least our next room was on the 4th floor, still facing the grey cement wall, but at least we could see a bit of sky when we looked on either side of the cement wall. We even had two plastic stools on the tiny patio. The hotel is in a great location, the rooms well appointed. The two other Front Desk Clerks, one male and one female were friendly and helpful….the other Male Clerk on shift in the morning was gruff and frankly…not welcoming at all.…
This is a dump. Located with balconys overlooking a parking lot. Roooms with thin Walls. Hearing everything room-mates are saying and doing. A 5-Star noway rather a 2-Star. Imagine living in a poor hotel in Bangkok. That’s How this is
Only one night in this great city-center hotel. Friendly check in and room was somewhat small but adequate for our needs. Walkable to lots of great areas to eat and people watch. Underground parking lot very nearby. Breakfast was delicious. Would stay again. Staff was friendly and very helpful.
We stayed in DOM for one night after a late flight. The staff were very welcoming and couldn't have been more helpful. The room itself was spotless and well appointed, perfect for a couple to explore the city from. Breakfast was excellent and had plenty of Greek options alongside the usual continental fare, plenty of options for those of a vegan or vegetarian persuasion as well. The location is very central, we spent the morning wandering around Heraklion and visited the archaeological museum (well worth a visit) and it was all within easy walking distance. Also a 10 minute taxi from the airport, so easy to get to and from.
I had to book this hotel at the very last minute as I was visiting someone in Heraklion hospital. I checked in late and the person at the front desk was really helpful, polite and friendly. Little touches like the fact the person at the bar brought me over a glass of lemonade as I checked in. The room itself wasn't huge but really modern and perfect for what I needed. Good shower and although it is right in the city it was really quiet. Location wise it is great, just a minute walk from lots of bars and restaurants. There is also parking right opposite the hotel which is called City Centre parking. This is really safe parking and they drive your car into a locked parking area. It is open 24 hours and you can pay for a discounted 24-hour ticket and come and go as many times as you need. You need to get a ticket from the hotel to get a discount. All in all, if you are staying in Heraklion for a 'city break' then this hotel is absolutely perfect. Great hotel and even better staff :-)…
The location is terrific with a parking garage across the street. The staff were very kind. We didn't try the breakfast as we were only offered an early morning service (Covid shift eating) as we had arrived the night before. The room lacked any charm, the balcony view overlooked an empty lot, the phone in the bathroom was hanging off the wall (surprising for a 4* hotel) ,and the bathroom door opened in such a way that it blocked the toilet, so to get to the toilet you had to be either very thin or very nimble. Perhaps the other rooms are better.
This hotel was nice. Though I’m unsure if it’s excellent. It was clean, modern and well presented. Staff were good. Though my god was it noisy in the morning. I don’t know what was going on outside the hotel room door or from another room but the walls felt paper thin and it was annoying waking up prematurely. In terms of location - excellent, central and convenient. I liked it here, but didn’t love it.
Great located hotel, very recently opened and super modern. The Dom Boutique Hotel is within short walking distance to a good diversity of Restaurants, Bars and shops, so ideally for city trips to Heraklion. The Hotel itself is very modern, very nice rooms and highly friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast is great and sufficient, with a great mix of local and international food.
Such a good modern hotel at moderate price right in center, close to lots of good restaurants. Very attentive staff and very clean, strict COVID protocols and outstanding breakfast that can almost last you through the day even on a long hike. Beds very comfortable and WiFi very good. Restaurant recommendations were outstanding. Very quiet and good AC.
