Unfortunately this "hotel" was probably the worst accommodation experience I've had in my life. Let's start with them calling us from a random number telling me hours before we were going to check in that no one was going to be on site. That's right, there would be no staff. They left our key in a lockbox and said good luck. Getting this information thru a cell phone call traveling internationally with someone who does not speak clear English was enough of an issue, but once we arrived we were shocked by how terrible dirty and unsafe the neighborhood felt. There were people loitering around the property, looking at our car after we parked and we thought they were going to steal it or worse - all the while, fussing with a lock box combination with zero help from the front staff- because they all decided to go home. Once we got in, the room itself was incredibly dated and musty. The pictures they list must have been of the best room possible with new linens, since our linens looked like they were from 1980. We literally walked in and walked right out. I have never left a place so quickly and booked a new hotel a few blocks away at a MUCH much better neighborhood and hotel (Astoria Capsis, which was very good and literally the same price - which is to say that this place was very very overpriced). there is also no parking, literally anywhere - small streets, narrow driveways, no parking available. I think the worst part of the whole experience was the hotel then attempted to censor the review and bully their customers. You can't call yourself a Hotel if you are a collection of old rooms around an abandoned courtyard with a lockbox to enter. Even hostels have more service and amenities. Instead we thought we were going to be robbed. DO not stay here - literally save yourself.

From the moment we arrived, we fell in love with this place! We were greeted by a young host named Ionnis, who would prove to be a vital part of our stay. He grabbed our bags and ushered us into the café dining room and said he'd be right back. He prepared a couple of refreshing drinks and left us to settle in, but was never far away. When we finished our drinks, he showed us to our room. The central part of the hotel is open to the elements and airy, despite being a smaller space. We asked where we could grab some dinner later, and Ionnis was on point with recommendations and directions. He also set up taxis for our sightseeing destinations. Our last night, we sat out in front of the hotel at the cafe, and again, Ionnis was taking care of our every need. What WAS going to be just a couple of drinks turned into an evening of drinking, snacks, and conversation! The owners are usually on site. We met and spoke with them on many occasions during our stay. Everyone was fantastic with service, care and attention!

My husband, son and I had a wonderful stay here. When we arrived we were given a very refreshing berry spritzer in the courtyard. It felt so welcoming after our long day of travel. The room was very comfortable and the old world ambience was inviting. The breakfast was very good: eggs, bacon, yogurt, croissants, muffins, juice, and more. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed there our first night and the last night of our trip to Crete. At the end of our trip we were required to get a COVID test. Unsure where to get it, we asked the owners and staff. All worked hard to find just the right place for us to go. Everyone was so warm and welcoming that we felt like family. It was hard to leave.

The hotel itself is very artistic with ornate rooms and accessories. The rooms have a small kitchen with required utensils. We spent 2 nights here and it was really nice. The beds were really comfortable. The location of the hotel is superb and directly in the city center. You can reach to the lively places in Heraklion and explore the night life which is just 2 min by walk from this place. The people at the reception are very warm and very helpful. They helped us to book a rapid corona test with a hospital. They also helped us book the ferry. They also provided us with a breakfast package since our ferry was going to leave early the next day. Nevertheless, there were some small things which can be improved. The air conditioner is located in a weird place, which takes a lot of time to cool both the rooms. The air is obstructed by the cupboard which is directly in front of the air conditioner.

This is an amazing hotel! The staff are very friendly and helpful. We were offered refreshing grapefruit soda while we completed the check-in paperwork. The room was unforgettable! It had a living space and kitchenette-ish area (sink and mini-fridge) on the ground floor, then a master-suite in the loft above. The bed was comfortable and had a variety of pillows. The wifi was excellent and allowed me to work remotely for a few hours in the living area. Breakfast in the morning was good, but nothing special (croissants, yogurt, cereal, meats). The only things I wish for is that the A/C was more efficient and that the electrical outlets fit my adapter more tightly (though we were able to make it work).

The room we had a lovely, just as shown in the pictures on the website. The breakfast courtyard was a stunning setting for a relaxed breakfast where they couldn’t do enough for you. Very friendly staff and close to the centre of town with loads of bars and restaurants.

We arrived late after a delayed flight and received a warm welcome. Despite being late at night, staff were very helpful arranging food when the kitchen had closed. We had a lovely courtyard room, clean with good air Con. We enjoyed a peaceful nights sleep with comfy beds. Well located to walk to the harbour. A good introduction to beautiful Crete! The breakfast was spectacular and of very good quality. Thank you to the chef.

I stayed here overnight with my daughter and husband at Christmas. We wanted to do a little shopping in Heraklion and have a nice meal in the center. I really enjoyed my stay. I got a very warm welcome, and the guy that checked us in gave us a brief but good talk about the services, etc. My daughter (24) and I had a fab lunch with wine in the courtyard, and the following day a good breakfast with lots of choice. There is cheap parking nearby and we enjoyed our brief stay. Our suite was a little smaller than I hoped but there is lots of outside communal space so it wasn't an issue for us.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days. Such value for money. Great service from Nikos, Stella and Dimitris made our stay here wonderful. Felt like being at home. Food, cleanliness, facilities, and professional service made this a great stay. Located in the heart of the old city, access from the port is easy. Great shopping and sight seeing. When in Crete this is the place to stay if you want the comfort of home when you travel.

The photos online have nothing to do with reality. An old restored building which is just ok. The rooms are small, nothing like the photos. Very very poor breakfast. There isn’t even a proper breakfast room. There is a wooden prefabricated kind of a room which is used as a breakfast room. I read a review from someone saying that he had his best breakfast over there. Did he ever go to another hotel in his life??? The location is very good and the staff is very helpful and friendly.
